I think we all can admit, that in these current times, light is needed in the world.

In a world of greed, hate, and corruption, there is also kindness, love, and justice. But, where are they? Where are these superheroes? They’re in you and I. Today, I was sitting on a bench at a local park, and kept getting “bugged” by a baby dragonfly. I would shoo it away, but it kept coming back. I wondered to myself, “what does this guy want with me?” Then I looked at what I was wearing and realized, “It must be my shirt!” I had a bright yellow shirt on. The dragonfly was somehow attracted to the brightness of my shirt. It’s the same way with humans. We are unconsciously attracted to those who emit light. I believe that as we strive to emit light in the world, by sharing, giving, and loving one another, we will spread the light this world desperately needs.

We all have a light inside of us. You have a light inside of you. 💡 The question is, can we see it?

Sometimes, I find myself taking life too serious.

I think about my goals and where I currently am, and the distance between them tells me that I need to be serious. Have you ever felt like that? Like you don’t deserve to laugh or have fun? Have your responsibilities and obligations squeezed away the kid inside of you?

I get it.

If you’re reading this post, you’ve now been given the permission to laugh. Laughter is a gift given to mankind by God for us to enjoy. So enjoy! It won’t slow you down from reaching any of your goals. In fact, it may just be the boost you need. So, laugh on my dear friend 😜

Security has been one of my new favorite gifts.

Recently, I’ve been able to endure jokes directed toward me with laughter of my own, with no side effect of embarrassment. Why? Because I am secure. How can one tap into this security? One answer: God. He promises to be our refuge and protector ALWAYS. He told us to cast ALL worries towards him. So why should I worry? Why should I dwell on things that I have little control over, when God has ALL control? There is no point. Instead, I will rest in him. Car troubles? I’ll give it to God (been having a lot of those issues lately). Family issues? I’ll give it to God. Insecurities? Here, take them Lord 🤲🏾. The Lord will work behind the scenes to make sure I have everything I need. So there’s no reason to worry. He is our rock. Our true and only sense of security. 🪨

Don’t “Do you”. Do the NEW you.

Someone close to me, out of love, gave me advice and encouraged me to remember where I came from and the person that environment made me to be. That person doesn’t understand who I am becoming. There is a new me in the picture, and every day, the former me must be more and more unrecognizable.

You are changing too. You are a new person, and your past does not define you. You are getting closer to the best version of your new self everyday. However, the world will try and draw you back. Don’t give the world that power. You are too close to the new you to take any steps backward. Full speed ahead!

Don’t do you. Do the NEW you.

Dreams can flee as quickly as they come, only if you let it. Hold on to your dreams, but don’t be afraid to adjustments. As we grow, so can our dreams. Allow your dream to mature alongside of you.
