Being proactive with my 5 year old I took him to @simgo.academy at the suggestion of great friend of mine. Little did I know it would be life changing experience for my family.

Within two days of watching Kai teaching the kids class I decided to give it roll.

The SimGo community was as welcoming as one can be when you are training to strangle each other. After weeks of frustration, adjusting my ego, and multiple taps per roll. I started being able to defend myself with some sense of success.

After competing in different tournaments around world over the past year this is now a normal part of life. Logan is a straight killer for a 7 year old and even Scott is now rolling around having fun on the mats at 4.

@sim__go thank you for your guidance and support. You have built an amazing community that is a testament to your great leadership of the academy.

@kaiju_bjj thank you for your guidance and the great work you are doing with the kids.

@eric.h.roth I appreciate you and the support you’ve shown me during this time. I couldn’t have asked for a better training partner and friend to have in my life.

Everyone at SimGo Academy this blue belt took a village and thank you for your time and trust on the mats. It’s been an amazing experience rolling with everyone.

Congrats to all the new blue belts!

Crazy last month of hanging with my extended family in Taiwan expanding my boy’s world view as they are now able to look upon the world with critical eyes.

While in Asia, @thesocialhomebodyyy and I decided to take a trip to Japan. @ibjjf Asian Championship was taking place so I threw my hat in the ring.

Out of a three man bracket I won my first match loss the second one to capture 🥈.

Now it’s on to American Nationals next week back in Vegas.

I huge thank you to everyone from @simgo.academy that rolls with spazzy white belts like myself. @sim__go and @kaiju_bjj for being great coaches. Most of all @eric.h.roth for being a great partner on this BJJ journey.

And to the boys the came to Japan @pnoydude and Ben congrats on your tournament journeys. @hydro_jitsu best of luck on your bracket tomorrow, thank you for your support and wise words. You helped me immensely. taken in Chiba, Japan by @superstroby
