HOW DID I END UP ON A STAND UP PADDLE IN THE MIDDLE OF A GLACIER IN ICELAND?

At the end of April 2023 @pandorasocin and I were supposed to shoot some content at an alpine lake in the Dolomites.
But the forecast looked terrible—cold, rain, snow—so I looked at her and said:
“Let’s just go to Iceland.”

No big planning. No real destination. Just a wild idea and a lot of excitement.
A few days later, we landed in Iceland… right into a snowstorm.
We picked up a van, loaded our paddle boards, and hit the road.

The goal? No real goal—just to find lakes, rivers, and whatever wild places we could paddle through.
And wow… we paddled through glacial rivers, over freezing lakes, and even between floating icebergs.

We camped in the middle of nowhere.
We slept under endless stars—and on our last night, the sky lit up with the northern lights.
No words can really describe that feeling.

This trip wasn’t planned.
It wasn’t comfortable.
But it was real.

An adventure born from bad weather and a spontaneous “why not?”
And it turned into an unforgettable experience.

Sometimes, no plan is the best plan.
