Attention friends and family of Pirates Basketball! Only 3 days until the start of our 2026 Pirates for Pirates fundraising challenge!

This year, we will be traveling over 8,000 miles for both non-league and conference games, representing you and our community wherever we go. Help us make a great impression! Your donations make a huge difference for things such as new travel suits, jerseys, quality pre and post game meals, team functions, and other opportunities for our team to have the best possible student-athlete experience.

Early donations can be made now using the link in our bio, or participate from October 6th at noon to October 8th at noon.

🚨BREAKING NEWS IN SU ATHLETICS🚨

The University has received an anonymous gift for renovations to the gym and lobby of the Corbin J. Robertson Center!

The existing bleachers will be removed and replaced with retractable chairback seats, along with a new hardwood flooring surface. Throughout the gym, aesthetic upgrades will be completed to further showcase Southwestern’s unique branding and Pirate color scheme!

Construction will start in March and be complete ahead of the Pirates 2027 Volleyball season!

We are proud to recognize 2025-2026 staff members Charlie Reznikoff and Will Cohen for accepting elite coaching positions for the upcoming season.

Coach Rez will join the staff at University of Tennessee - Martin, a DI program in the Ohio Valley Conference. The Skyhawks finished 4th in the OVC last season en route to a 22-11 overall record.

Coach Cohen will join the staff at University of Mary Washington in Virginia. The Eagles finished last season 30-3 and won the DIII National Championship.

Both of these coaches played a pivotal role in the growth of our basketball program, and we cannot express enough gratitude for their commitment and belief in Southwestern University and SU Men’s Basketball.

We wish them luck on their respective journeys. Once you’re a Pirate, you’re always a part of the crew. by @supiratesmbb

Arkansas ➡️ Texas 🏴‍☠️

After a standout freshman season with the Ozarks Eagles, Eyal Shamri is transferring to the Southwestern University Pirates in Georgetown, Texas.

Shamri averaged 15.3 PTS, 3.5 REB and 2.3 AST per game, including a season-high 34 points against Texas Lutheran. Now, the Israeli guard is ready to make his mark with the Pirates 💪 taken in Southwestern University, Georgetown, Texas by @supiratesmbb

Looking back at the season moments, the Pirates ranked 3rd in the nation in wins improved from the 2024-25 to the 2025-26 season only trailing the DIII National Champion and an NCAA Tournament team!
