Today the city announced an excited adaptive reuse for 512 W. 4th St. to be used as a community arts incubator. Let's break down why it won't become the downtown library as intended, and what this could mean for the Fort Worth Community Arts Center. taken in Fort Worth, Texas by @supportfortworthart

Calling all artists, arts professionals, and art advocates!

Your advocate @artsfortworth is hosting a NEW event to keep you connected, informed, and in community on Thursday, January 29 from 5-7:30pm.

First, at 5:00pm you are invited to join them for an open house of the NEW Arts Fort Worth headquarters right here in the @nearsouthside at 306 W. Broadway Avenue.

Then, we'll move next door to @atlasfortworth for our launch of ARTSYNC - a come-and-go social hour with updates and introductions to deepen our professional relationships and share resources as we plan for 2026.

AND PLEASE HELP US SPREAD THE WORD so Fort Worth's arts community shows up in force as we kick off the new year with ambition and excitement.

Fort Worth’s arts ecosystem reaches every corner of our great city. This vast ecosystem includes arts professionals of all types: actors and patrons, visual artists and gallery owners, educators and development directors, musicians and marketers working to enhance, support, grow and deliver incredible cultural experiences and spaces that impact our entire region. And of course, we must not forget the arts advocates and patrons who fill our galleries and theaters, supporting our arts economy.

With so much incredible work occurring across a large and growing city, arts professionals often report disconnected the information, resources, and community that shapes their profession. Enter ArtSync – a quarterly gathering of arts professionals to connect, strengthen, and celebrate Fort Worth’s arts ecosystem. Please plan to attend and help us spread the word to others in the arts community. by @supportfortworthart

Mayor Mattie Parker decided to move the last public comments meeting of 2025 to 5pm from 6pm. Then, they cut our time from 3 minutes to 90 seconds (Wesley got a little longer with a group), so the Mayor and Council could make it to the Tree Lighting. A photo op is more important than the people.

Wesley Kirk is just an incredible advocate for the arts in Fort Worth. We are so lucky to have him. He was standing up at Council for the Fort Worth Community Arts Center 🎭 🗣️

Despite Mayor Mattie Parker decreasing public comment opportunities down to just 10 meetings a year & decreasing last nights LAST public comment meeting of the year EVEN FURTHER (down to just 1.5 minutes per person form the standard 3 minute allotment so the city council could make it to yheir photoop at the tree lighting on time) FTW citizens still showed up, showed out & made our thoughts & feelings known.
We have to continue to show up for the Arts in Fort Worth. We have to demand that city council restore the community arts center & all it provides for our city.
Don't know where to start?? Want to know more?

It's important that we remind the Fort Worth City Council about how vital the Community Arts Center is as the foundation of our entire arts ecosystem. We can't let the building continue to sit empty. We need an update about the future of the Community Arts Center, and we need a plan for it that centers the arts community.

Your voice can make all the difference. taken in City of Fort Worth by @supportfortworthart

This week we helped Amphibian Stage get a special recognition from Fort Worth City Council thanks to Councilmember Elizabeth Beck. It honors 25 years of Amphibian Stage and the 5th annual SparkFest, which starts TONIGHT. It's 10 days of music, poetry, storytelling, new play development, a vendor market, and an acting competition, all highlighting some of the best indigenous artists from all over the country. taken in Amphibian Stage by @supportfortworthart
