Barbell Bench Press 3 x 8 1-2RIR
Weighted Dip 2 x 8 1-2RIR
Low to High Cable Fly 3 x 6-8 1-2RIR
DB Lateral Raise 3 x 6-8 1-2RIR
Tricep Ext 2 x 6-8 1-2RIR

This is just one of my push days where I am a bit more focused on building strength hence the weighted dip and barbell bench press(both still great exercises to build muscle). If you don’t care as much for strength you can swap out barbell bench press for a flat dumbbell press or machine press!

As I have stated before it is more important to focus on your proximity to failure than your rep range. Theres a lot of rep ranges you can build muscle in as long as you’re training intensely(failure or 1-2RIR). Don’t just go in the gym and do 8 reps with a random weight and expect to maximize growth!

Do it for you—because you love yourself enough to try.
Do it for the kid you once were, the one who dreamed without limits.
Do it because no one else can take that step for you.
Move forward, even a little, and one day you’ll look back in awe at how far you’ve come.

1. Train to failure or close to it (with good form)
Good form is non-negotiable and an absolute prerequisite to lifting heavy. Once you’re confident in a movement, you need to load it adequately and train with intensity. Challenging yourself is what drives adaptation. If you never push close to failure, you’ll leave a lot of gains on the table and quickly plateau

2. Write down your lifts
Track the weight, reps, and sets for every workout. You can’t just walk into the gym and wing it every session while expecting consistent progress. Training without tracking makes improvement random instead of intentional.

3. Implement progressive overload
Try to add a rep each session until you reach the top of your rep range, then increase the weight and repeat the process. This ties directly into tracking your lifts—if you don’t know what you did last session, you can’t progressively overload. Over time, these small increases are crucial for long-term growth and progress.

4. Track your nutritional intake (especially protein)
Nutrition matters. If you want to gain weight, you need to be in a caloric surplus. If you want to lose weight, you need a deficit. On top of calories, protein intake is crucial for muscle growth. Without tracking your intake, how would you know if you’re eating enough? Lifting has many variables, and tracking calories and protein help you pinpoint what might be stalling your progress.

5. Be consistent
Keep showing up and doing your best. Progress won’t happen overnight, but if you consistently train and eat well, the results will come. Don’t quit just because you don’t see dramatic changes in a month.

I plan on making more in depth videos on each of these!

Maturing is realizing everyone is running their own race, and every lift, every rep, every PR—no matter the number— is a victory worth celebrating.
