WHAT IF DIGITAL FASHION COULD DO MORE?

We often talk about digital fashion as self-expression — what our avatars wear and what that says about us.
But what if the garment itself could do something?

A coat that protects.
A print that activates.
A textile that transforms.
A piece that unlocks an experience.

That’s where digital fashion gets interesting. We stop simply recreating physical products and start designing for possibilities that only exist in digital worlds.

Maybe the next question isn’t just:
What do you want to wear?

It’s:
What do you want what you’re wearing to do?
Digital fashion can become more than appearance. It can become experience, behavior and identity.

JACQUELINE SINGER — STREETWEAR.

Her original piece reconsiders the everyday objects through which the self is felt — drawing from her own experience with memory loss, and built around radical transparency as a design language.
A subversive material choice, translated into Roblox without losing what made it catalyze conversation in the first place.
Our job: bring that same discourse into a space built for it.
Winner, Most Promising Designer in Gaming — Streetwear — Fashion in Gaming Awards.

ANNABEL BYRNES — HORROR.
Her original piece finds its power in restraint — tension built through stillness, texture, and form rather than excess. A stone-like treatment freezes the figure in time; a hidden face and singular eye leave the unease to linger.
Our job: bring that same restraint into Roblox without flattening it into spectacle.
Winner, Most Promising Designer in Gaming — @digitalfashionweek.events for the @fashioningamingawards

XIAO MINGQUAN — CYBERPUNK.

Her original piece personifies AI as a sentient being, not a tool — designed around how a future consciousness might experience emotion and memory.

Our job: bring that concept into Roblox without losing what made it distinct.

FROM DIGITAL DESIGN TO PLAYABLE FASHION.

Four designers won Most Promising Designer in Gaming at the Fashion in Gaming Awards — for pieces that existed as digital fashion, but were never built to function inside a game.

Our job: translate each one into a working Roblox wearable without losing what made it distinct. A silhouette built on stillness. A body designed as sentient AI. A subversive material choice. An armor that reveals as much as it protects.

Four completely different design languages. Four translations. Same discipline behind every one.

As a digital fashion designer, your creation doesn't have to end as a render. It can be functional. Dressable. Worn by millions of avatars. Admired, not just observed.

Over the next few weeks: the builds, one at a time.

First up: @shawn_x1ao — Cyberpunk ⚡

The future isn't coming from the runway anymore.

Iris van Herpen. Mugler x Gentle Monster. Nike x Windowsen. Aespa x ANDAASH. RISKY. Pop Mart.

Different brands, different categories — same shift. Digital fashion isn't following physical fashion anymore. Increasingly, it's the other way around.
