Had an incredible time working up a new mini-package of signs for our pals and one our very oldest clients, @fanguitarandukulele. John and Genie hired me about 13 years ago to do signs for the first location of their shop and it is such an honor to be back to give them a new take on things. Replaced their original sign that I made 10 years ago that’s still hanging tough. We’re stoked to share that the iconic Richmond postcard mural is back! And this time it’s a tribute to the late, great Bill Martin. There aren’t many other people who devoted as much of their lives to promoting Richmond with unflinching honesty as Bill. He was a steadfast promoter of downtown and Broad Street, so this felt like the perfect way to honor his memory. Located at the site of the original postcard mural (311 W Broad), the pictorials in the new version are all visions of Broad Street, past and present, including St. John’s Church, a daily site in Bill’s life.

Thank you to Ted and Katie Ukrop for making this possible and offering solid input along the way. For Bill!

Now get ya’self down to Broad Street and get yer photo.. while you’re there grab some food, get a drink, take in some history, avoid the dog dookie, talk to some wild Broad Street people, get yourself some interesting stories to tell your friends, and enjoy what living in a city is all about.

Spent the last week putting together a series of big wall signs for our pals at @lucky_13rva. This project was such a blast from start to finish and I gotta thank @buehrlebrad13 and the crew for saying the magic words, “We just want you to do what you do”. This project was also really fun for me as Lucky 13 was the last shop I worked at when I started painting signs regularly, and Brads willingness to let me stink up the shop at like 5am before appointments went a long way towards Sure Hand Signs becoming a thing. Thanks for the support yall, from day one. Check out the new shop opening soon, it’s going to be absolutely nuts. Also big thanks to @conradsignco for lending a hand through a couple of the hottest days to hang out on some ladders. Had so much fun putting together a colorful transom window and wall mural for our new pals at @deeperdive_rva, opening soon on E Main St just down the street from the Jefferson. They let us put our twist on their existing branding and i am super happy with how both pieces came out.
