I’m breaking my IG hiatus temporarily to share this cute Cuban restaurant that I checked out for lunch on my day off.

@cubaneo_chicago brings Cuban food to Lakeview, Chicago in a rustic, vibrant atmosphere. I didn’t know what to expect going into it but was pleasantly surprised.

Our order:
- Arroz Con Pollo (*my recommendation* very hearty and a big portion!)
- Cubaneo Burger
- Tostones
- Habana Spiced Latte

Spring means that summer will be here before we know it, and I look forward to that. In the meantime, there are new spring ice cream flavors at @jenisicecreams for a limited time!

Every time we passed by this restaurant, we always saw it packed with people and a long wait, partly because they don’t take reservations. When we came on a bad, snowy day, we thought that it wouldn’t be that busy but were totally wrong!

After trying out this authentic Sichuan restaurant in Uptown, Chicago @yooyeechicago, I can see why it’s so popular and definitely recommend this place!

They have one of the best braised beef brisket hand-pulled noodle soups that I’ve had in Chicago. This restaurant is also perfect for those who love spicy foods!

Dishes that we tried:
- Braised beef brisket hand-pulled noodle soup
- Eggplant with garlic sauce
- Double cooked pork
- Fish filet with pickled vegetable soup
- Ube coconut ice cream (dairy-free)
- Coconut with mango jelly ice cream (dairy-free)

@tensukemarket is in a new, upgraded building in Elk Grove Village, Illinois! It’s a soft opening currently.

It was busy over the weekend, especially for the restaurant with the long line so grab a table early if you’re dining there. We got the beef udon, chirashi bowl, seafood soup, and more.

There were sales throughout the store and a promotion where you get a free gift with $30 purchase. We also got 3 giant inflatable Pocky sticks in different colors!

@gangnammarket.chicago has their Lunar New Year celebration going on this weekend, and I went yesterday.

It was fun watching the Traditional Lion Dance performance, trying out the handmade tanghulu, and we received some Lucky Red Envelopes that got us chopsticks and a stainless steel mug! We also did some grocery shopping, and they had many sales throughout the store.

@gangnammarket.chicago is celebrating Lunar New Year this weekend (Feb. 14th & 15th) in a big way, so be sure to check it out if you can!

What they will have:
- Traditional Lion Dance performances at 2pm an 4pm
- Handmade tanghulu
- Free samples and savings from their vendors
- Receive a Lucky Red Envelope filled with surprises and prizes with $16 purchase while supplies last

I went to their celebrations in the past, and they were always a good time! We also got pretty lucky before with winning a giant sriracha and hoisin sauce plushie. Hopefully our luck continues this year with prizes. 🤞

@jenisicecreams collaborated with @bridgertonnetflix to create an ice cream flavor to celebrate part 1 of season 4!

Here are the new items so far:
- Queen Charlotte Sponge Cake
- The Queen’s Diamond: A trio consisting of Queen Charlotte Sponge Cake, Wildberry Lavender, and Tropical Bloom in a buttercrisp waffle bowl

Another new ice cream flavor is dropping soon to celebrate part 2 of season 4, so stay tuned.

@sushibybou_ now offers a *new* 60-minute, 17-course Bou Reserve Omakase experience. It’s an evolution of their Bougie Omakase and comes with premium enhancements including:

🍣 Caviar Bump
🍣 Foie Gras snow
🍣 Wagyu upgrade
🍣 Bone Marrow
🍣 Truffle

I’ve been to multiple Sushi by Bou locations before for their 12-course omakase, but this was by far my favorite! The enhancements were a nice touch, and this was the first time that I’ve had bone marrow on a nigiri. Incredible.

I loved the Home Alone movies growing up, which have become kind of an annual tradition for me. I also loved Schitt’s Creek and The Studio, which are hilarious and phenomenal shows. Catherine O’Hara was amazing in all of these, and she was an incredible actress and comedian overall.

It’s sad to learn of her passing today at 71.

May you rest in peace, and thank you for all the laughter and joy that you brought us over the years.

I have been to this Ukrainian-inspired café twice now in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood @kazkachicago and recommend it!

It’s a cozy environment and great for both groups, catching up with friends, or date spot.
