All I wanna say about the cider scene in France is that THEY KNOW WHAT THEY’RE DOING. I first had a calvados from Normandy in 2017, really really pronounced notes of apple (of course) bloody brilliant to say the least. Here we are 5 years later and today I tried my first ever “apple cider” from Normandy - inexpensive but quality for sure. Don’t mind my glassware, the copitas doesn’t do justice to it but Good carbonation, drier than I thought it would be, super tart but very session-able. Big ups! by @sureyeahforadrink

I knew i had a knack for booze the day i was chosen to be a part of a wine fair at our hotel, serving tapas at the Italian wines section, but i knew I belonged right behind the bar serving and talking about that Sangiovese. Days later i was asked to be a station holder at The Polo Bar, As coveted a position as it was amidst us STEP associates, interestingly it didn't interest me. I wanted to be behind the bar where i could spruce up a few drinks and and serve them. By now I'd turned 21 (referring to this video) and was looking for a job, i spoke well and most alcohol houses wanted someone who could speak well and sell and so as to equip myself to sell i needed to know the insides - literally what was inside the bottles and so i studied the WSET L2 in spirits first and then on to EBS Mumbai to learn a little bit about the ins and outs of a bar from a global perspective, post which i came back to the drawing board and studied the WSET L2 in wines & spirits, which was wine centric and that struck up an interest deeper than i knew i had in me, thats when i reached out to a homegrown - bootstrapped startup that made meads, a kind of alcohol made by fermenting honey with fruits and spices. They brought me on board to handle sales and marketing for their Goa vertical. i was one of the 9 people to start out with them and the only one away from their home turf - MH. I was responsible for all aspects of the brand in Goa, right from handling trainings and tastings down to keeping stock count. The industry really showed me what my passion was, it was selling a concept i truly believed in. In the world of hooch for a party you can be sure you'd want a vodka, a rum and a whiskey but being sure about a mead? Not a chance, that's as big a no as selecting a bottle of wine, One's almost certain they don't want it and would pick up a corona (No pun intended). My job was to look at that person and turn them into a fizzy mead drinker. While Goa was an easier battleground to do so (relatively). The Retailer driven markets around India won’t let you. Got shitfaced here sometime back in 2016 maybe 17, a night full of great music and a Budweiser...or 8, I remember I met @ankurtewari here in the loo. My first proper introduction to Budweiser, thought it was too cold the first time I had it, almost freezer burnt...like a slushy of sorts but one two many sessions later I was properly hooked, it wasn’t the proper kadhvi -fauji kingfisher that I grew up drinking for an eternity. It made sense! flavourful, had a sweeter finish and the soda like bubbles felt good in the mouth idk..it just made sense 🤷🏻‍♂️ In any case many a buds were flushed out..so we’re goood on that front @flushbutton taken in Hummingtree by @sureyeahforadrink
