Happy Olympic Day! 🇨🇦🏄🏼‍♀️

Raised in Tofino, British Columbia, Sanoa @sanoa_olin made history by representing Canada Surfing in our first Olympic Games, inspiring a new generation of Canadian surfers to dream bigger and paddle further.

“I feel so proud to be the first Canadian surfer to compete in the Olympics. Being born and raised in Tofino, BC and learning to surf in the North Pacific waters off Vancouver Island has been so special. Being in the Olympics is a dream come true and it’s an honour to represent myself, my family, my community, our island, our country, and all it’s given me along with all the local surfers who helped pave this path and those that will follow in my footsteps.”

Today, we celebrate not only Sanoa’s achievement, but every athlete chasing their Olympic dream and the communities that help make those dreams possible.

With the road to LA28 already underway, the next generation of Canadian surfers is training, competing, and dreaming bigger because someone showed them what was possible first.

Today, we celebrate Sanoa’s legacy, the growth of surfing in Canada, and every athlete working toward their own Olympic journey 🙌🇨🇦

Still dreaming of last weekend.. it was my 4th time competing in a longboard contest, 4th time of talking big game because whyyyy not! Well, I guess everything clicked and my path was laid in front of me that weekend, just like when a random set wave comes to find you in the ocean, and I finished 4th in the National Championship Division! Maybe 4 is my new lucky number haha
Still in awe of it all, living in total perfektenschlag right now! Thankful for @vilongboardsurfcontest for throwing such a rad event. Thankful for all the love from the homies near and far. Thankful for @shireenbebe ‘s beach sign. Thankful for @young_caitlin_ and @mcneil.ca ‘s gorgeous shots. Thankful for @ktice2000, his family and my fellow judges.
Congrats to the champs and all who competed! So thankful for the longboarding community, the left hand coast ruuuuules!
Can’t wait for next year’s, where we’ll continue to burn it DOWNNNNN 🔥🔥🔥💜💜💜 by @surfcanada
