🏄‍♀️✨ Rommie and Amanda are back from Surfing Australia’s RISE Camp ✨🏄‍♀️

A huge thank you to Surfing Australia for supporting two Surfing Mums members to attend the 2026 RISE Camp at the High Performance Centre in Casuarina.

“Having children is often a barrier to progressing in surfing because of time and care commitments. The camp helped me feel confident with my judging skills and as I had recently completed my foundation coaching cert.” Rommie

This is exactly why opportunities like RISE matter: creating pathways that recognise women’s different journeys and helping more mothers stay connected to surfing.

The camp brought together women of all ages, backgrounds and abilities from across Australia to connect, learn and grow through workshops, discussions and practical sessions covering:

🌊 Surf judging and coaching development
💛 Women’s pathways in surfing
🌱 Longevity and wellness for female athletes
🌏 Surfers’ roles in the environment
📖 Sharing our surfing journeys and experiences

While the biggest swell of the year hit the Gold Coast and changed some of the planned in-water activities, there was still time for unforgettable waves, including an epic surf at Snapper 🏄‍♀️

Thank you again to @ssurfingaus and a personal south out to Shanice Ryder, tireless working behind the scenes to make the magic happen!

At Surfing Mums, we love supporting and celebrating all our mamma entrepreneurs. Leeron, from Maroubra, is launching SurfApp, which can help surfers make informed decisions to optimise our (often limited) time ...and stay safe from beach hazards, e.g. 📣whale carcass on the beach: I'll skip today, thanks 😝

🌊 with SurfApp, surfers can upload quick 15–30 second videos of the waves in real time, to help fellow frothers check the conditions before leaving home 🤙

Cameras not working? No worries.
No camera at your favourite beach? No worries.

Leeron's SurfApp is about building a community that helps each other with real-time surf checks from real people at the beach 🌊

SurfApp is currently in BETA and would love our community to be part of the founding surf crew 💙

So good to see Mid Coast Surfing mums in the local paper :) now there is Tuesday morning roaming group, Wednesday and Friday mornings in Hallidays point, Friday afternoons at One mile beach and a monthly Sunday meet up at Hallidays point. So many options yewww! by @surfingmums
