A former beauty queen was found dead at the Maryland home of her oral-surgeon boyfriend in 2022 — a death initially treated as a possible overdose that eventually became a murder investigation.

Sarah Harris, 25, was found unresponsive at Dr. James Ryan’s home. Investigators later uncovered messages and evidence showing Ryan had supplied and administered powerful drugs, including ketamine and propofol, during their relationship.

Harris’ sister helped investigators uncover text messages that became crucial to the case. Ryan was ultimately convicted of second-degree depraved-heart murder and involuntary manslaughter and sentenced to 45 years in prison in January 2024.

The case is now receiving renewed attention through Lifetime’s “A Doctor to Die For: The Sarah Harris Story'".

We woke up this morning to messages from @loridiorthebrand that we post “fake stories” and wanted clout off her. What clout can Lori give us?

Our question is simple: what fake story have we ever posted about Lori?

When this story first broke, many people defended her by saying she never represented herself as a doctor. Honestly, videos we never cared to shared.

Florida does allow healthcare facilities to be owned by non-medical professionals, but ownership and licensure are separate issues, and background-screening requirements can apply depending on the type of facility and license involved. Something that may be hard for a convicted felon to obtain.

So instead of yelling “fake news,” address the actual videos, public records, and statements that people are questioning.

A 65-year-old Australian woman has died in Vietnam after undergoing multiple cosmetic procedures, with health authorities now investigating the circumstances surrounding her death.

According to reports, she underwent breast lift and implant surgery, followed days later by abdominal/flank liposuction and a tummy tuck at City International Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City.

Her condition later deteriorated, and doctors discovered a perforated sigmoid colon diverticulum and localized peritonitis. She underwent emergency surgery before being transferred in critical condition to another hospital, where she later died.

Vietnamese authorities have ordered an investigation into the surgeries, post-operative monitoring and management of her complications. Any violations identified will be addressed under Vietnamese law.

Before traveling abroad for surgery, investigate the surgeon, facility, medical risks, recovery plan and emergency care available if something goes wrong.

A Colorado man previously convicted of impersonating a plastic surgeon is facing 11 new criminal charges after prosecutors say he again presented himself as a licensed doctor and performed medical procedures without a license.

Carlos Hernandez-Fernandez, 46, allegedly performed procedures including lower-eyelid surgery, rhinoplasty, liposuction and lipoma removal between June and August 2025, according to prosecutors.

Authorities say he operated Bare Beauty Aesthetic Care in Lakewood despite not being a licensed medical doctor. He allegedly also accepted money for consultations involving procedures including tummy tucks and breast augmentation or revision surgery.

The investigation reportedly began after a complaint in August 2025, leading Colorado regulators to issue a cease-and-desist order. Hernandez-Fernandez was arrested Oct. 1 and is being held on a $750,000 cash-only bond.

He previously pleaded guilty in 2017 after prosecutors said he posed as a plastic surgeon and performed procedures on patients.

Before you trust someone with your body, verify who they actually are. A white coat doesn't make someone a doctor. A license does.

Reality TV Star Farrah Abraham is facing a difficult recovery after undergoing double-disc jaw surgery to address ongoing jaw problems.

According to People.com, Abraham’s mouth has been wired shut, leaving her unable to speak and requiring a strict liquid diet for at least two months. She has also experienced severe jaw pain, facial swelling, significant weight loss and hearing loss in one ear.

Her manager says Abraham had her stitches removed on September 30, calling it a “small but welcome milestone,” but says she still has a long road ahead.

Earlier this year, Abraham spoke publicly about being unable to open her jaw normally because of her ongoing condition. The latest surgery was described by her team as treatment for those continuing jaw issues.
