Class 3 of Sewing Project Part 2 is in the books and we’re having so much fun! 🧵✨

Our students are putting the finishing touches on their tote bags (they came out AMAZING 😍) and have officially started their next project… a zippered pouch!

We can’t wait to showcase all of their beautiful creations soon with @njcdc — stay tuned!

My heart is still overflowing from Saturday’s event. Hosting my first college edition Sewing Pop-Up at FDU was truly a full-circle moment for me. @abidedesignsllc and I came in and completely transformed the space with creativity, cafecito, and community.

A huge, heartfelt thank you to Paulaska and Mariela from Generation Fearless @generation_fearless for inviting me to campus and trusting me with this experience. I’m humbled, grateful, and so excited—because this is only the beginning. I can’t wait to see what 2026 brings for Cafecito con Fashion! 🧵☕️

From the small bites to the music, to the deep, genuine conversations we shared—every moment reminded me why I love doing this. Thank you to everyone who showed up with open hearts and creative energy. 💛

What started as a vision just two months ago became a beautiful reality! Our Sip & Sew Pop-Up in Jersey City was filled with pure creative energy — from stitching tote bags to sharing laughs and cafecitos!

If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to sew, this is your sign! 🧵 No experience needed — just bring your creativity. For most participants, it was their first time using a sewing machine, and they walked away proudly holding a tote bag they made themselves!

G R A C E

The empowerment to do what is difficult

I have officially finished my Master of Arts in International Community Development! It only took 4 years 🫠🫠🫠 but God!!! Let me say that again… BUT GOD!!!

Today I am overjoyed but also sad because the MAICD program was pivotal in changing my perspective about the issues that plague a community. It answered the burning questions I had such as what causes poverty? How can we love our neighbor at an international level? Where does God fit in the equation of community development and social catastrophes?

It has taught me the tangible effects that sin has on the community, country, and globe. It has also taught me the transformative power that is found in the gospel of Jesus Christ. It has equipped me to serve communities not by having a “savior complex” but rather to co-power with the experts of the community which are its people! It’s about serving the community with the truth in mind that each human being was designed by a loving God to have purpose and dignity!

I have to give glory to God for a moment! When I came to my role, I noticed our Kindergarten playroom lacked resources that would help our students play and learn. I learned how essential play is for young children and so I hit up a couple of friends to donate new toys and lightly used toys so that our students can have more to play with. The response was heartwarming.
