This photo was taken when my body and mind were completely depleted 🫠 but my heart was absolutely overflowing.

With joy. With pride. With gratitude.

I had spent two solid weeks scrubbing, shop vacuuming, unpacking, windexing, problem solving, organizing, planting, painting, and staging to prepare the space for a photo shoot. I was fortunate to have colleagues then model for and photograph the store. Shortly after that, 8 more friends showed up on their Friday night ready and willing to help in any way they could to get things finalized for my first guests. My brain was mush. They stepped up, made a to do list and organized groups for each task. Like so many around us, they are the helpers Mr. Rogers was talking about.

There is so much heaviness in the world and on my heart right now. In a way, it feels like I shouldn’t or can’t talk about this business that I’ve worked so hard to create. But this business has never been just a 1-woman show. It’s never been just about me. It’s been built with you in mind - built for the women we all know who are helpers everyday and who deserve to also be helped and to prioritize themselves.

When I worked with @laksmi_interior_designs on the original vision for the space, I told her the word “respite” kept coming to me.

So yes, this is a retail store. Yes, it’s a place to try on and shop for curated secondhand pieces. It is a space that aims to take the overwhelm out of shopping sustainably. It’s also a place to host workshops that spark creativity and community. And mostly, it’s an approachable, safe space to sit, to chat, and to just be.
