✨ DARSHAN — A Dance-Theatre & Visual Performance ✨
📍 CRIPA, Auroville | Part - 1
Over three transformative evenings, Surya Performance Lab presented Darshan — a poetic journey where dance, theatre, and visual art merged into a story of resilience, identity, and metamorphosis.

The performance carried the audience into a sensory space where vulnerability was transmuted into strength, and darkness gave way to inner light. 🌿

💬 “It is to the sincerity of your aspiration that the Love answers spontaneously.”
— The Mother, Words of the Mother – II

Auroville witnessed an offering that was more than performance — it was Darshan, a living reminder of the redemptive power of unconditional love. 🌸

From Butoh to Kechak, from shamanic ritual to street dance - all these forms helped a story to find the body’s true expression. Darshan brings them together - the stage becomes a space to cleanse, to heal, to offer. 🌿✨

———-

It tells the story of a metamorphosis: that of a young sensitive man who has suffered bullying and remains trapped in his trauma. Out of breath, lost in darkness and totally isolated, he finds his way back to his own light, to his true nature and to the Cosmos.

The show invites the creative maternal principle, and the invisible forces that accompany metamorphosis.

It offers a hypnotic journey, a sensory and poetic experience in which vulnerability is transmuted into strength.

It explores themes of resilience, identity, and the redemptive power of unconditional love.

@surya_performance_lab presents DARSHAN: A Solo Dance-Theatre & Visual Performance by Saman Me Kala @visuallyengaged

Blending physical theatre, visual storytelling, and poetic narrative, DARSHAN explores trauma, erasure, and resilience. Drawing from personal memory to evoke universal truths, the piece moves through layers of lived experience with unflinching honesty.
Through movement, imagery, and fragmented memory, the performer revisits the quiet violences of growing up unheard—the laughs that cut, the silences that linger, the wounds that circle back.

Featured here is the multi-talented Saman performing a piece from the show. This excerpt is part of the work-in-progress show from the public rehearsal that took place @cripa_auroville on 24th July 2025.

Main Premiere: 12, 13, 14 September 2025

Directed by @pelenphilippe & @thierrymoucaz
Assistant Director: Rucha Kulkarni @kumudini_._

We wish the team the best for the premiere in September, and warmly invite all to witness this powerful theatre.
