Latest commission - capturing these four children, who are now grown up, running free in Sweden.

Taken from an original photo, I loved the energy of the cousins and wanted to show the wonder of childhood using a vibrant orange screen print and by showing two circles - seeming an impossiblility.- in the background. The circles are a nod to the sun and moon which can sometimes be seen together at the same time - to show anything's possible particulary a child's imagination. by @susannavosper

‘In Synch’ (mixed media) - inspired by ‘Inside The Mask’ (two colourways)

I was recently blown away by a performance called ‘Inside The Mask’ by professional dancer / performer, Hanna Cunningham, who’s recently graduated from Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts. Hanna devised and choreographed as well as performed in the piece, which explored her lived experience of masking as an individual with ADHD. In it, there are 3 characters representing the main character’s inner self, outer self and a ‘neurotypical’ friend whom she meets at school and tries to emulate.

I found the piece incredibly moving and powerful - as at first, the small child is ‘in synch’ with her inner and outer self - as depicted in the image I have created - before becoming increasingly detached as she works hard to fit in and ignore her inner self over time.

Resolution comes over time when the main character finds her way back to assimilate her inner and outer self with the world at large.

This show was so original and would resonate with so many people on many different levels.

Congratulations to Hanna and I hope she is able to tour the piece…. ❤️

Sometimes you have one of those weekends that you know you’ll remember forever.. this was one of those…

Absolute delight to see two of my favourite pals tying the knot after 33 years together, privilege to be their unofficial celebrant and be part of all the love, joy and laughter ❤️🙌 I only took one photo all night so thanks to all those who did, and shared, as featured here..

Round two came on Sunday with my fella’s oldest friend visiting from Canada and doing a knock out performance whilst touring with friends he’s known since primary school. Stars - Broken Social Scene and Metric - what a line up..and such an emotional reunion….
Loved it all ❤️

Sometimes, I’ll find a sketched image from a while ago and I’ll return to it and work on it a bit more - This one is called ‘Siblings’ sketched from a family holiday a few years ago… I’ve reworked it and tried a couple of different colour palettes…. I have purposefully made it a bit messy because with your brothers or sisters - one of the longest relationships for many people - they know us ‘warts and all’… by @susannavosper
