A lot of people don’t understand the bond you share with your soul pet, and that’s okay. Lilo was mine. She wasn’t just my dog; she was my best friend, my child, my heart. Every night before bed, I’d tell her, “Goodnight, Wewo.” When I was sad, she’d gather all her toys and place them in my lap, trying to comfort me in the sweetest way. The very first night we got her, she slept right on my right arm, and when it was time to say goodbye, she left this world resting on that same arm. Three years with her felt like a lifetime of love. She touched the hearts of everyone she met and was always the happiest girl, full of life, love, and joy.

In her last few days, all she wanted was to lay by the window in her big bed, quietly watching the world outside. I’m grateful she got to spend those final moments surrounded by love before saying goodbye. The house feels so quiet now, the kind of silence that aches. I still look for her in every little thing… her hair on my clothes, her favorite bone, the Frito smell on her blankets.

She was too pure for this cruel world, but she was my whole world. I’ll keep looking for her in signs, in memories, in moments that remind me she’s still with me somehow. I hope I get to see her again one day, even if it’s in a different form. Until then, I’ll keep saying goodnight, Wewo. I can’t wait for the day I see you again. ❤️ by @susfitttt
