James Lane Crawford joined her family on Thursday, January 8th. She is welcomed by big brother, Wade and big sister Hallie. There are a lot of emotions in the Crawford house and we are content with God’s perfect timing. by @susiemickle

Hallie Update 💛🎗️

12/11: Dr. Ludwig called Travis today to update him on the bone marrow sample. Unfortunately, there are not definitive answers at this time. While some of the results look good, there were some white blood cells that were immature and have to be sent for further testing. This will take about 1-2 weeks. Therefore, we cannot definitively say Hallie is in remission until these cells are studied.

Additionally, the presence of these immature cells may make her total White Blood Count too low to start consolidation on Monday (the next phase of chemo). Hallie will go into the hospital Monday morning and take labs before they can definitively make that call.

While this is not “bad news” per se, we ask that you would pray for Travis and Sarah Frances. There are so many unknowns in this cancer journey, and to have to wait longer for these important results is difficult. Please pray for their faith to be grounded in Jesus and to “dwell in the shelter of the Most High” psalm 91:1.

Elizabeth, Sarah France’s sister, updates us almost daily. This is one update that was unwanted. Please pray for sweet Hallie, Wade, Sarah Frances and Travis.

Hallie Update 💛🎗️

12/1: Today Hallie had another round of chemo therapy and labs were checked. Although her levels were good in labs, the Crawfords learned sobering details regarding a specific genetic mutation doctors had tested for in the initial diagnosis. These details are below:

Today the Crawfords learned that Hallie has an unfavorable genetic mutation called a P2RY8-CRLF2 fusion, where two genes inside the leukemia cells join together in a way they shouldn’t. This finding confirms that she will continue in the high-risk group and receive stronger chemotherapy.

This mutation can make it a little harder for the leukemia to fully clear in the first month, which is why her Day-28 MRD test (Dec 8th) is especially important. MRD, or minimal residual disease, measures whether any leukemia cells can still be detected after the induction phase. If her test comes back MRD-negative, it means treatment has wiped out all detectable leukemia cells, which is the best possible result and means remission. Unfortunately, this mutation can make MRD-negative a bit harder to achieve.

This genetic result also affects the next phase of treatment, called consolidation. Because she’s in the high-risk group, her consolidation phase will include more intensive medicines, including immunotherapy, and closer monitoring.

We have been so grateful for so many positive reports regarding Hallie, which is why this was especially difficult to process. Please pray specifically against fear for Sarah Frances and Travis, and for a deep anchor of hope in their soul. Please pray for them as they approach Day 28 - we are still asking and pleading with the Lord for complete remission despite the unfavorable genetics. May he bestow the Crawford’s with deep faith of His love for them, Wade, Hallie and baby girl to be born in January.
