POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

WE DID OUR FIRST LIVE!!!! 🎉

Yesterday we did our very first live show as part of the @cheerfulearfulpodfest at @thebedfordpub in Balham, London!
We absolutely LOVED it and are so grateful to everyone who came along and for all your support.
It was such a fabulous day! 💛

A huge, huge thank you to the wonderful @bwhiteheadvoice — aka Wallace from Wallace and Gromit — for being our guest.
Massive thanks to Ian for being part of the tech team, and to @ella.flmroll for capturing the day so beautifully as our videographer.
Thank you to @agentdaeche for being such a wonderful person and an incredible support, and to @podomedy for cheering us on as we move forward on our pod journey.
Huge appreciation as well to the amazing team @thebedfordpub for all their help, and to Giles, director of @cheerfulearfulpodfest, for giving us this amazing opportunity. 🙌

And as a lovely bonus — after our show, Esther was a guest on the brilliant @fandomentalspod… and she WON the competition! 🏆

Our next live show is on Friday 21st November at The Hearth in London, and tickets will go on sale this week. We can’t wait! 🎙️✨

WHAT A 24 HOURS!!!

We met at Battersea Power Station at Apple Headquarters and had the opportunity to meet some of the other wonderful nominees and have a chat with the creative team at @applepodcasts to see how they can help/do help podcasts.

Then we popped for lunch by the river.
It quickly dawned on us that we were eating at the same place we had eaten at the day we launched our first episode, 4 years ago, the day before.
We may have both had a little weep about the weird synchronicity of that.
We lightly discussed the possibility of winning and then quickly dismissed it…errr did you see the podcasts we were up against…The Guilty Feminist, Harriet Kemsley (from Amazon’s Last One Laughing) and @th0tstv and @mag_hags to name a few.

We decided to travel by river and Esther made Susie pretend she was in a TUI advert…”oh darling hold my hand”.

We stopped for an ice cream, a drink and sit down in the park by the Embankment, it was 🌞🌞🌞
Headed to the hotel and got ready.
Pink and yellow outfits, obvs.

We headed to the BBC and met the most glorious and inspiring women, and chatted with them over some delicious drinks and, Esther’s fave, Candy Kittens.

Then it was award time!
@samanthabaines absolutely smashed it as the host. What a woman!
And when our award was called, well, I think you can tell from our faces, we weren’t expecting to win.

With not even the hint of a speech prepared, not that you can tell 😬😬, the acceptance was a blur.
I’m sure “pissing in the wind” and “dressing like a banana” are not what we would have chosen to say…😂

We are so INCREDIBLY grateful to @iwpodcastawards They really do champion women and are doing something spectacular enabling podcasting women and lifting them up. Thank you.
Thank you also to our agent @agentdaeche for being there to support.
Thank you to all the incredible women we met. We were super inspired by you all.
And thank you to you lot for listening.
We love making this podcast, it’s joyful and bloody hard work, and to get this recognition means the world to us.
Thank you all for your continued support.
We love you all!

@thatlaurasmyth - apologies for behaving like a drunk woman and telling you that I loved you and had researched you, like a stalker. I was a bit giddy!

Thanks to @nadianagamootoo for having the foresight/6th sense to video.

The Archers cast, united in their outrage of a proposed move of the Archers to outside of its West Midlands home, have written an open letter to the Director General of the BBC. Equity will not stand idly by as changes which affect not only our members, but local communities in the midlands are made. The cast are ready to fight this! I heard The Archers theme tune on the brilliant @djsaracox Breakfast Show on @bbcradio2 this morning and felt compelled to text in! A thrill to hear the dulcet tones of Barwick Green. Even if several people apparently thought it was the theme to the @bbcantiquesroadshow 🤯 (get with the correct iconic programme, people!)

Thank you, Sara Cox for reading out my excited text!

And Happy 75th Anniversary #thearchers 🧡 You can still catch The Archers roadshow! #thearchersliveat75 @faneproductions on until late November at a theatre near you!

An unexpected fortune, a dazzling London season and a handsome duke. Susie Riddell brings @barbaracartlandauthor's enchanting historical romance to life as Cornelia Bedlington navigates high society, hidden motives and the possibility of true love. A charming tale of self-discovery, transformation and matters of the heart.
