Nepal's Budget FY 2026/27 proposes some remarkable reforms in Health Sector.

In addition to the budget allocation, quite a few other reforms have also seen the light of the day in the past week.

977 new permanent technical and specialist positions in the health sector have been approved.

Here's some of them and my honest take as a healthcare professional (recommendations for further improvements).

Cervical cancer is preventable and treatable: through vaccinations, screenings and treatments.

The nation wide vaccination campaign calls upon young girls to be vaccinated against HPV. Please contact your schools and nearby health centres for more information.

And women aged 21-65 years, a simple cervical cancer screening (Pap test/HPV test) every 3 years might save our lives.

Officially attending the Global Youth Summit 2025 in Cape Town as a Global Changemaker!

I have known about GCM for almost a decade but the timing and purpose never seemed to align. A couple of years ago, I decided that I would be investing significant amount of my time and energy into the social impact area; which pushed me to search for better opportunities to grow and learn. I have run and stumbled multiple times and that's the beauty of honing our purpose. This summer I took a leap of faith and submitted my application for the program trusting my work and potential.

To be recognised as one of the 50 Global Changemakers this year has been rewarding and inspiring. As a part of the program, I was awarded a fully funded scholarship to attend the Global Youth Summit in Cape Town. I am deeply honored and motivated to be in a room of diverse thinkers and doers.

Thank you @globalchangemakers for recognizing the impact of @suswasthyabhavanepal 🫶

A memorable Nepali dhaka outfit for a wonderful day! Thank you @muku_boutique 🇳🇵

Mahankal Gaupalika- through our lens.

A remote rural municipality just 50kms away from Satdobato, Mahankal gaupalika, lies atop the hills faraway not just in distance but in reach, resources and manpower. A four-hour bumpy ride to the rural municipality's office gives you a premonition of what lies beyond. But in the quest of achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and Health for All, we don't leave anyone behind.

Suswasthya Bhava:'s 2-day free health/dental camp in collaboration with @nepalmediciti hospital, provided oral hygiene awareness sessions, necessary dental treatments and much required gynecological and other consultations which amassed 500+ individuals from 2 wards- Thuladurlung and Gotikhel.

The locals gained insights on proper brushing techniques, nutrition and hygiene. We were grateful to have @dabur.np as our hygiene partner. We distributed Dabur toothpastes to the health camp attendees, who had travelled for 2-3 hours just to reach the camp site.

Our deepest gratitude to the officials of Mahankal Rural Municipality for the hospitality and assistance. A detailed documentary on our experience will be released on Friday.

Up next- telemedicine services. Stay tuned.

When purpose meets platform.

Oral hygiene awareness session at Chitwan Madhyamik Vidhyalaya, Bharatpur, Chitwan.

Children are learners and doers. What they learn is what they imitate in action. Teaching them the correct way to brush their teeth is one of the most effective ways to securing healthy oral cavity. Grateful to have interacted with the kids and to remind myself that the journey is a long road ahead. To one of my themes of advocacy - education, we are beginning with a smile.

Chitwan Ma.Vi was my late grandfather's second home. He taught English and shaped this school beautifully in a lot of ways. I hope I do him proud. The legacy is taken forward one smile at a time.

Thank you for the support @rajusme .
