did you know that the labor hours dedicated to installing a new asset (meaning the asset is activated and undergoing wear and tear) can be capitalized? as in, the cost of labor directly adds value to the asset, crediting your opex and debiting your capex, reducing your immediate taxable income and permitting the labor to be depreciated according to the asset’s MACRS life-span? by @suuptime

An Ode to My Long Hair and Its Accompanying Memories or A Progression of Self Love by Deeper Meanings

You have died over and over,
Reborn on dewey mornings with the tea kettle’s whistle,
And left behind some of life’s sweetest gifts.
You combed through your hair,
Matted and glossy,
Releasing the knots before each wash.
You went to bed sweaty,
Kissed from the evening’s excitement,
And destined in your dreams to reach out for the people you love.
Your growth overcame time and trial,
Outlasted grief and sleepless nights,
All so the curls could let themselves wind about freely.
You’ve made friends with strangers,
And drawn scraped knuckles across each palm.
You are open,
Bleeding,
Living life with fervor only fueled by the heavens,
And rewriting strength into softer words and actions.
Little details latch onto you,
Building a mosaic of every passing moment,
Dancing in the sun and singing to the skies.
You hold every moment I have lived.
Thank you for being here. by @suuptime

FELIZ CUMPLEAÑOS A TI

Tis Maddie’s burthday!! You’re 25 now, so your brain’s done growin, good luck with that!

In all seriousness, it’s your 25th birthday, and this marks the quarter of your life (kinda, I hope you live beyond 100 for selfish reasons) it’d be cool if we could live and die at the same time bc idk how I’d live without you. You’re my big sibling, although not so big ;), and you inspire me every day. You’re way smarter, harder working, and lowkey funnier than I, which is annoying🙃 but you’re the blueprint, and I’m just trying to make you proud. I hope you have the best of days today <3

Love you, Madz.

My Trust Begins With a Touch

Fingerprints draw up and down
my spine
Shiver trickles fear and taste in
my mind
Rather scratch and break
my skin
Than them be gentle with
my body.
Begin to choke up on
my sweat
When hands draw too close
and let
Themselves run freely on
my skin.
I don’t want anyone in
but you. by @suuptime

I washed my hair today :)
Orange bleeds from Mother’s vein
Attempt to keep the sweet light high
Needles for naught as angels bless the sky.
While green turns blue then gray unto black
Chirps and cries cease, critters circle back.

A new body has taken over the day.
A quiet floater, she sees fit the stories of the night.
“Will you be coming?” Her inquisitive wink sparkles in a flash; she’s testing your patience.
For no high can outrun the sun’s lobbed yawn.

We should welcome her with wicked love.
Our dreams are colored with galaxy dust; who do you think lead them there? Celestial bodies sing praise of the night, we might as well harmonize.
We vibrate, these spirit cells.

The night has come
Mother’s eyes are drawing back
The earth has spun
Once more her daughter cherishes the black. by @suuptime

Camel’s Hump is family-friendly fun!

Agency of Natural Resources, Vermont State Parks.
Waybanaker Indians first named it “Tah-wak-be-dee-ee-wadso” or Saddle Mountain. Samuel de Champlain’s explorers in the 1600’s called it “lion couchant” or resting lion. The name “Camel’s Rump” was used on a historical map by Ira Allen in 1798, and this became “Camel’s Hump” in 1830.

The park came about as an original gift of 1000 acres including the summit from Colonel Joseph Battell, who originally bought Camel’s Hump to preserve the wooded mountainous view from his home. In 1911, care of the mountain was entrusted to the State Forester who managed with the aim to keep it in a primitive state according to Battell’s wish.

The State of Vermont eventually adopted a policy of development regulation on all state forest lands to preserve aesthetic values. It fought proposed intrusions by communications towers and ski resorts until the summit’s Natural Area was set aside; then special legislation was passed in 1969 to create a Forest Reserve whose state-owned acres (about 20,000 by 1991) form Camel’s Hump State Park. taken in Camel's Hump State Park - Summit by @suuptime
