There’s something intimate about storytelling.

It’s not just plot.
It’s not just structure.
It’s memory.

Mood.

The season of life I was in when I wrote it.

It’s the late-night doubt.
The second-guessing.
The moment I almost deleted the whole thing.

When you read my work, you’re not reading something assembled.
You’re reading something wrestled with.

The questions.
The contradictions.
The uncomfortable impulses.

Those don’t come from automation.
They come from being human.

From sitting with a thought long enough to let it sharpen.

If my stories feel personal, it’s because they are.
And I want you to know that.

Thank you for valuing art that’s messy, intentional, and entirely human.
No shortcuts.

No secrets.
No shame. 🖤

I don’t believe caring has to be constant commentary.

I care deeply about what’s happening in the world.

About love.
Kindness.
Inclusion.
Equality.
Peace.

You may not see me responding to every headline, but that doesn’t mean I’m not paying attention.

Some of us process privately.
Act quietly.
Hold our values without broadcasting them daily.

My work will always reflect what I stand for.

Even when I’m not speaking directly about the news.

Why is horror such a powerful vehicle for feminism? From women’s fear of violence and the policing of our bodies to reproductive control, motherhood, domestic abuse, and the anger women are often expected to suppress, horror has a unique way of making invisible fears impossible to ignore.

In my latest #Spooktober post, I’m looking at what happens when horror gives those fears a body—and a voice—through novels by women writers including The Brides by @charlottewriteshistory, Goodnight Monsters by @suzannejunered_author, Trad Wife by @sarahlangan, Bruja’s Nest by @brendalatorrewrites, and Incarnate by @almakatsu.
