‘Cassotto’ by Suzan Peeters is out now! Happy to finally share the entire album with you – a debut that places the accordion at the center of an adventurous and contemporary sound world; one that invites to discover how far an accordion can reach when tradition and imagination intertwine.

With Cassotto, she opens a door into a hidden chamber of sound. The title refers to the “cassotto” — a small resonating chamber inside the accordion that warms, softens, and deepens its tone. Listening to this record feels as if you’ve stepped into that room yourself, enveloped in a world where intimacy and grandeur collide.  Although this is her first release, Peeters is already recognised as one of the most promising names in Belgium’s experimental music scene. Her distinctive live shows — from leading venues across Belgium to a packed Café Oto in London — have earned her a reputation for combining accordion, electronics and unconventional objects such as a massage board into a compelling whole where contrasts come together in an unexpected way. Cassotto captures this approach in recorded form, giving listeners the same sense of immediacy as her concerts, but framed within the intimate space suggested by the album’s title.  While the cassotto chamber naturally gives the accordion a soft and velvety voice, Peeters harnesses that warmth to explore extremes — from hushed detail to bold, expansive gestures that fill the room. As such, the album moves between the acoustic and the electronic, the tender and the abrasive, the static and the dynamic, the traditional and the experimental. by @suzanpeeters

Semibreve closes the performance programme for its 2026 edition with a final wave of confirmations spanning commissioned works, world premieres, live performances and exploratory club culture.

Newly announced artists include Nuno Canavarro & Bruno Miguel Pinto with “/Radiant Rift”, Marta Salogni presenting “a,drift”, a commissioned work by Semibreve, Berlin Atonal and Unsound), Ricardo Jacinto with the world premiere of “Manto”, Suzan Peeters performing “Cassotto”, System Sophie with the premiere of “Carbolines”, Peder Mannerfelt B2B RONI, Flora Yin-Wong and Dawn Dani.

Full festival passes are now sold out, but it is still possible to experience the full festival through a combination of Theatro Circo passes and gnration day tickets, both on sale. Daily tickets for performances at Theatro Circo will be on sale today.

This past year, we got the opportunity to create something special.
As cousins, it has always been a dream to make something together ever since we were kids.
At first, we imagined a ritual concert, where visual elements would deepen the musical experience. But before we knew it, the idea grew beyond itself. Suddenly, we found ourselves performing as a spider, covered by an accordion, moving across a rolling platform. The concert evolved into a performance: Breathscape.

Breathscape unfolds as a living painting and a sonic landscape, where we move as figures in sculptural costumes. Almost like jumping from one canvas to another. It is about sound and image growing together, about our family bond, about rawness, elegancy and something primal. Mechanical and instinctive vibrations shape the landscape of our fabrics. The performance weaves in fragments of a film we shot last summer at Terril Winterslag, where not us, but our grandmother’s fabrics take on the leading role.

Breathscape draws inspiration from filmmakers Sergei Parajanov and Francis Alÿs. Also we reimagined a song we always used to sing with our grandparents before dinner, transforming it into the film’s closing theme, gently bringing everything full circle.

As the year comes back into bloom, Rewire opens space in The Hague for music that challenges convention and invites new ways of listening. The 2026 edition continues this tradition, bringing together artists whose work stretches across borders and disciplines. While the festival’s scope is international, some of the most compelling ideas emerge just beyond the Dutch border, where the Flemish experimental scene continues to evolve in striking and unexpected directions.⁠
