I think one of the most beautiful things about motherhood is realizing that the life you once dreamed of is happening in the most ordinary moments.

A baby on my hip. Little arms wrapped around my neck. Dancing in the kitchen for no reason. Three little people filling our home with more noise, mess, laughter, and love than I ever could have imagined. 🤎

This is the life I want to be intentional about. The one I want to pour into, nurture, and make beautiful in the little ways that matter. Not because every day is easy. Not because I’ve figured it all out. But because even in the middle of the chaos, I look around and think… how lucky am I to call this my life?

I’m learning that creating a beautiful life isn’t always about adding more to it. Sometimes, it’s recognizing just how beautiful the life you’ve already built really is.

And I really, really love this one. 🤍

I think motherhood has a funny way of making you realize how badly you want to slow down…right around the same time you realize how quickly everything is moving. Lately I’ve been asking myself some uncomfortable questions.

Why am I rushing?
Why am I hurrying them through getting dressed?
Why am I counting down until we can get out the door?
Why do I feel like the house needs to be picked up before I can sit down and read another story with them?
Why do I treat bedtime like something I need to get through instead of another little piece of their childhood?

And maybe the biggest one…

How many moments am I rushing through that I will one day wish I could have back?

Oof. Yeah that one hit me hard too.

Because the truth is, they aren’t asking me to hurry.

They’re asking me to look at the bug.
To come outside.
To read the book again.
To watch them climb the tree.
To sit beside them while they make something completely ordinary feel like the most important thing in the world.
To welcome me into their little world!!!!

And maybe I don’t need to make our days more productive.
Maybe I need to become more present for the life that’s already happening.

Three kids. Three little seasons. And a childhood that’s moving whether I slow down or not. I just know i don’t want to miss a moment of it.

So this fall, I’m trying something different.

Not a fuller calendar.
A fuller life.

I’m realizing that the childhood I want to give my children starts with the pace I choose to live at. I don’t want these years to be a blur of rushing from one thing to the next.

I want to remember the little things.
The muddy feet.
The chaos.
The books left open on the floor.
The afternoons that somehow turn into evenings.
The questions, the messes, the laughter, the “look at this, Mama!” moments.

Because childhood doesn’t need more hurry.
It needs room.

Room to wonder.
Room to play.
Room to be bored.
Room to get dirty.
Room to simply be little.

So this season, I’m choosing to slow down. Not because there is less to do, but because there is so much I don’t want to miss. I’m trying to create the kind of childhood that doesn’t need to be rushed.

I think somewhere along the way, I started realizing that I don’t want to just get through these years of motherhood. I want to be intentional about how we live them.

I want a childhood for my kids that feels slow, connected, curious, and full of little moments they’ll remember. I’m realizing that creating that for them also means learning to slow down, heal, grow, and make different choices for myself.

So this is me, starting to share more of that journey.

The homeschooling. The homemaking. The meals around our table. The things I’m learning about myself, my home, my relationship. The faith that keeps pulling me back. The beautiful moments and the imperfect ones too.

Just figuring it out as I go, and creating a life that feels more like us.

If you’re in a similar season, I’m really glad you’re here.

As a homeschooling family, starting our mornings with God has become such an important part of our rhythm.

Before we begin our lessons, we spend time with Him. We pray, give thanks, ask questions, and learn together. It gives our children the opportunity to know that there is Someone greater than us who loves them, guides them, and can give them strength.

My hope is that by seeing what God has done in my life, they will understand why my faith means so much to me. He has carried me, changed me, and saved me in more ways than I could ever explain.

Their relationship with God will always be their own. I’m simply grateful that our home can be a place where they feel safe to explore their faith, ask questions, and learn about the love of Jesus.

We are not perfect, but we begin with Him. And that has made such a beautiful difference in our home.

but it was just September…

I swear I just met you.

I just held you against my chest for the first time. I just watched your brothers walk into the room and meet their baby sister. I just memorized your tiny face, breathed you in, and wondered who you would become. I freeze this moment in my head. Yet, somehow, we’re almost back to September. Almost one whole year of nursing you, carrying you through our days, watching your personality bloom and seeing your brothers completely fall in love with you.

There is something so beautiful and heartbreaking about motherhood. You spend every day watching this little person grow, while quietly saying goodbye to every version of them along the way.

I wish I could go back for just five minutes….Not to change anything. Just to hold that tiny September baby again knowing everything I know now. Knowing how quickly those newborn stretches would disappear. How completely you would weave yourself into our family. How many nights we would fall asleep wrapped around each other, your little body tucked into mine, and how sacred it would feel to be the place you reach for even in your sleep.

Maybe that’s the beautiful ache of motherhood.

I don’t get to keep the tiny September baby forever. I get to know every version of her, what a privilege that is.

It was just September… wasn’t it?

kinda chic to actually enjoy motherhood 🤍
There was a time when I genuinely wondered if motherhood would ever feel light again.

After having Xander, postpartum depression changed so much of my experience. I loved my babies more than anything, but loving them and enjoying motherhood were two very different things. So much of that season felt like survival. Getting through the day. Getting through the next hard moment. Trying to be the mother I wanted to be while barely feeling like myself. I think there can be so much guilt in admitting that.

Because of course I loved them. Of course I was grateful for them. But I was also struggling. And when you’re in the thick of it, it can feel impossible to imagine that motherhood will ever feel different. But it did.

Somewhere along the way, the fog started to lift. I started finding myself again. And this time around, I’ve been able to experience motherhood in a way I once desperately hoped I would.

I’m not just surviving my days with my children anymore. I’m actually in them. Loving them! I enjoy them. I notice them. I laugh more. I play more. I have the capacity to soak up the ordinary moments instead of constantly waiting for bedtime just so I can breathe.

And motherhood is still hard. I still get overwhelmed. I still lose my patience and have days where everyone needs me at the exact same time and I want to hide in the pantry for five minutes. But hard doesn’t feel hopeless anymore.

If you’re in that place right now, I hope you know that the season you’re in is not necessarily the motherhood you’ll experience forever. The light really can come back. One day you realize you’re laughing again. You’re dancing in the kitchen. You’re looking at your babies and thinking, God, I really love this life.

There is something so incredibly beautiful about finally getting to enjoy the life you fought so hard to find yourself in again. Turns out, making it through the darkness and falling in love with motherhood again is kinda chic af 🤍#motherhood #kindachic #lovinglife #thankyoujesus by @suziepasqualini

Jesus, make me a gentle mother. Let my words heal instead of wound, encourage instead of discourage, and build instead of tear down, Even in correction, let my children experience your kindness through me.Remove harshness from my tone and replace it with compassion.

Teach me that gentleness is not weakness but strength surrendered to You. Let my home be a place where grace is felt and truth is spoken in love.

Amen 🙏🏼🤍

Nobody:
Then there’s me at 9:47 PM after putting three kids to bed: “You know what sounds relaxing? Replacing every light bulb in the bedroom.” 😂

But honestly, creating a healthier home is built on a thousand tiny choices. So tonight’s hyperfixation was circadian light bulbs with daylight, sunset, and campfire settings and I’m officially obsessed.

Low EMF, flicker-free, no blue light at night, and designed to support your natural rhythm.

Just over here romanticizing homemaking and turning our new house into the cozy little sanctuary I’ve been dreaming of.

Slowly closing this chapter, and what a gift it has been to call this place home.

Packing up Naomi’s nursery feels a little heavier than I expected. Just a year ago, I was carefully creating this space while dreaming about the baby girl who would fill it. Now, the rocking chair, the tiny clothes, and the shelves that once held all her little things are finding their way into boxes.

Motherhood is full of these strange, familiar moments. You spend your days soaking it all in, knowing how precious it is, yet somehow you’re never quite prepared for how quickly the seasons change.

They’re still little. Still babies, really. But every now and then, a moment like this reminds me that time is moving whether I’m ready for it or not.

So grateful for the memories these walls have held, and so excited for the next chapter waiting for us.

A little heartache. A lot of gratitude. 🤍#motherhood #moving #packing by @suziepasqualini

Sweet serendipity. Just a collection of little moments that mean everything. Truly. I mean everything. I had a pinch me moment the other day.

The laughter of my children. Coffee in hand. Wildflowers growing freely. Homeschool mornings. Packing boxes. New beginnings. Sun on my skin. The beautiful chaos of everyday life. A life built slowly, intentionally, and with so much love.

Somewhere between the chaos and the ordinary, I realized I’m living the life I once prayed for.

My heart is full. Endlessly grateful for it all. 🤍
