I've been searching for her for 20 years and I finally found her in this beautiful antique gold frame. A Barbara Weber 50s-60s reproduction of "Carmen" to join my Torino girl! When I lived on E.Mistletoe in San Antonio on the same block as my favorite tapas/jazz bar, Carmen's De La Calle, I would pass by everyday to take a look at this beautiful woman and on nights I could afford, sip wine, listen to jazz and world music on my solitary dates with myself, and admire her. Now, I get to admire her once again. Time for a glass of wine and music to celebrate! taken in Austin, Texas by @suzybravo

I love waking up, fully rested with a big cup of coffee, and a good book to light my day. Stealing precious moments for casual reading in between school work. This book was created by Marianne Satrapi, creator of "Persepolis", who passed away earlier this year. She was an Iranian woman ,a bit older than me. My heart hurts for her. The more I read her and her love of Iron Maiden, rebelliousness, and heartbreak...her wonderful sense of humor and bravery, the more I fall in love with her and wish I could've met her. I have conversations with her in my head while I'm reading. When I try to find the reason for her death, I only find this explanation, "She died because she was sad". by @suzybravo

When I was a teen, the first time I read the word "feminist", an image of this baddie's face was next to it. I was drawn by her power, beauty, and absolute conviction. I wanted to be like her. Whatever a feminist was, I wanted IN. I was fortunate enough to see her speak in person. She absolutely inspired and empowered her audience. She gave us the fuel for the fight and for that, I will always be grateful for her. Raise your fists in the air, for the legendary GLORIA F***IN STEINEM! We love you and thank you! You are legend. by @suzybravo

Sappy song for our goodbye to summer post. In 2 days, Steve is heading out for a 7-week tour with Messa who are touring the U.S. and Canada with Uncle Acid, so we made the best of the last weekend we'd have together for the summer. Next time I see him, Fall will be in full swing mid October. We had a killer time seeing great friends, listening to soulful music at Meadowfest and Vinyl Beauty's 8th Anniversary with Scott Biram, Brother, and Dj Devil Woman...and enjoying Iranian cuisine at Roya, Tex Mex at Tres Amigos. Now, we get ready to get our heads back in the game for a new week of work, school, and Steve's tour. Cheers! by @suzybravo

Today, we had a glorious day at @texastribalbuffaloproject at their Waeldorf, Texas ranch location and had the honor of meeting Texas Tribal Buffalo Project founder/Lipan Apache chingona, Lucille Contreras and amazing grants manager, Irene.

We watched majestic buffalo graze their natural habitat and organically improve the soil quality, I saw more dragonflies than I could count, toured the ranch and learned the processes and educational efforts for the benefit of future generations. We shared our stories, learned about the importance of indigenous food sovereignty and how to support it, as we built community.

I look forward to volunteering for them and learning more in the future. Thank you @womanfromthemountain for having your beautiful space open to the community and for your important Earth saving work! #indigenousfoodsovereignty #texastribalbuffaloproject #sustainableagriculture #decolonizeyourdiet taken in Texas by @suzybravo
