I snuck into this room every night to sleep until I was 8. My sister was accidentally born in this room while my mom was home alone 😳. My brother chased me through this room with a golf club and I tripped and broke my elbow 🏥.

This room holds the memories, the love, the worries of two people raising 8 kids together. The view of it I hold most dear is my parents on their knees praying together every night.

It never needed to be pretty to be special, but now it’s both!

The farm has escalated quickly and mostly I’m like what the eff is happening here and which kid has a practice in twenty minutes? And did we eat? Crap I gotta feed everyone. And yes I can take you to the golf course and no- I can’t find your baseball bag. And why did I plant a garden?

Fiji photo dump! My sister and I went to visit my parents on their LDS mission. You should have seen our reunion after 16 months apart 😭.

Obviously I’ve been sad to not have my parents around. But after seeing how much good they’ve done in the world, especially for the family they’ve basically adopted… I’m like—- okay, fine I get it. I guess I can share my angel parents. Do your thing mom and dad! I’ll happily send you off on another long Mormon adventure! As long as you are happy, healthy and serving in a stunning tropical location I can visit 😜.

I found this gem of a routine by @aannaprimaveraa when I was about to give up hope. Everything I was trying was just so heavy on my thick hair. I hated touching my hair (which apparently I do a lot) until… this routine. It’s light and bouncy and doesn’t take me a million years to do!

Ps. I never knew my hair could do this until I started messing around with different products and routines. Does yours have hidden curls in there like mine did?? Fun! by @suzyholman

Honestly I’m stoked to meet the witchy, white, goddessey DGAF about others opinions version of me that all these silver strands are calling forth. I’ve spent hours stalking the #silversisters hashtag and I feel so inspired by this level of authenticity!

AND ALSO…. Terrified. Like what if I’m not lucky and my gray hair doesn’t look cool it looks awkward eternally (which it’s bound to for like two straight years) and people say I look a hundred years older than Todd.

But also, what if it’s so dope and I’m so stoked I did it this young? And I meet myself as I stop covering my true self up?

And what if I contribute my tiny little strands to women refusing to conform to beauty standards that tell us our value lies in youth and perfection?

OR MAYBE it’s not that deep and just try to stay hot forever. I’m sooo torn. Thoughts??!!! Has anyone done this? Loved it hate it?

Gutted today by the architect who told me the only way to get the house the way I want it is to level it and build a new one. I’m clearly handling the news like a champ. Also could be lingering jaded-ness from selling my forever home to experience farm life… which is a dream I held for a few months and its charm slowly fades as I realize the work involved.

Team no dreams. I really think it’s the way to go. Just see where life takes you day by day. No attachments, no big goals. Just present moment wonder and mystery. Whatever happens, happens.

I do really wish I could get myself to kill the bugs though. There was something so satisfying about pinning their little bodies and labeling them.

I also do realize what a privilege it is to be this bored and cared for and how ridiculous it is that lacking play is something I consider one of my life problems. I get it.

I’m grateful. Past Suzy is doing a happy dance, while now Suzy is like…. put down the laundry. Bug collections anyone? by @suzyholman
