My garden is transitioning to the Autumn season in zone 7b-8a. Yet I still have some summer blooms showing out.

Cover page picture is a Dahlia bloom - Kelvin Floodlight variety.

This is my first attempt to grow Dasheen (Taro Root)…and doing so in a pot.

I planted this out in April. Sources say it takes 9 months before harvest. I am almost there.
Any advice?

As we wrap up this 🥵 Summer, I harvested my last sweet melons on the vines this week.

You too should be transitioning to the Autumn season🍁🍂

Summer in September…the flower garden.

I love how the garden transforms into it’s own character over the summer months.

Harvesting and preserving season.

Every 2-3 days, I am harvesting food to preserve for sauces, pickling, or for the freezer.
In the midst of it, I am saving seeds.

These harvests are within 24 hours. And I was still able to give away a basket of okra and peppers.

Start your garden. Plan for the 2027 season.
Grow food!

A HUGE harvest and I am so grateful to be able to stick of a few things for the fall/winter season.

Typically I am harvesting daily for dinner.

A couple weeks went by without me harvesting and this was the results.
