Sunset in Cambria, CA. As a landscape photographer, vertical video often hurts my soul. 😂 Our eyes are positioned horizontally on our faces for a reason. So rather than let IG squeeze this video down, I’ll leave it up to you to simply rotate your phone. ♥️ taken in Cambria Moonstone Beach by @svbiggins

Flashback Friday. Mid-1990s. That time I went to war in New Hampshire. 😂 This movie, Fallen Angels, in a nutshell, was about international arms dealers up to no good and the consequences of their actions. A very big concept for such young filmmakers to take on. They had a budget but no experience, and a script which needed a lot of work. I think even they would say this movie was awful. In fact, I ran into one of them here in L.A. several years ago and he said just that. Needless to say, it never really saw the light of day. These clips I’ve edited together here take place on a fictional island nation somewhere in the South Atlantic off the coast of South America. Funny thing, I was the one who casually suggested a name for this fictional country when it was revealed that it didn’t have one yet. It stuck. Truscana. 🤷🏼‍♂️ My character, Dan, went to college with the two lead characters and now lives in Truscana, which is embroiled in a bitter war against invaders. The war scenes were all shot in and around a quarry somewhere in New Hampshire. Funny anecdote, all of the miltary uniforms were sitting in a big cardboard box when I arrived on set. Moments after I put my pants on, I discovered there was a wasp hanging out in there after it stung me on my inner thigh. 🐝😫😂 I’m not mentioning names to protect both the innocent and the guilty. by @svbiggins

I didn’t film this in slo-mo. It’s just Chester doing his “creepy sniff” thing this morning. Still at it even at 15 years old. Keep doing what you love. ❤️ taken in Silver Lake, Los Angeles, California by @svbiggins

Brand new Italian-Brazilian fusion spot in the neighborhood called Briciola. They opened today and we just had to check it out. Fun atmosphere, great food, great service. We’ll definitely be back!

We decided to hit up the Thursday night tasting at Silverlake Wine this evening. Four wines from independent producers in California. Really enjoyed it!

Even though neither of us is into oysters, we’ve been hankering for a lobster roll and our local oyster bar up the street offers it on their menu. So after feeding and walking Chester we took a stroll over there. We opted for a surf and turf type of situation with a lobster roll and steak frites. Liz had a yummy spritz and I had a delicious glass of Albariño. For dessert we got a Meyer lemon tart. I paired it with a glass of Sauternes while Liz opted for some Port. We admired the Lunar eclipse on the walk home. Despite the heat, it was a lovely evening out. taken in L & E Oyster Bar by @svbiggins

Sunday morning in Solvang started with another tradition, getting delicious danishes at The Danish Mill Bakery before checking out of the hotel, which Chester supervised quite expertly. Then we headed north to enjoy a relaxing couple of hours tasting wine and snacking at the beautiful grounds of Riverbench in Santa Maria. We followed that up with another tradition of ours, a wine & truffle pairing at Andrew Murray Vineyards back down in the Los Olivos district. We then took a relaxing drive back down to Solvang to eat dinner at Tower Pizza and dessert at the newly opened Santa Ynez Valley Creamery before heading home. taken in Santa Barbara Wine Country by @svbiggins

We started our Saturday morning in Solvang the way we usually do, at Paula’s Pancake House. Then it was off to Lompoc for wine tasting at Melville, followed by a Fall pre-release wine tasting for club members in Ballard Canyon at Stolpman Vineyards. After regrouping at the hotel it was off to The Hitching Post for a scrumptious dinner. taken in Santa Barbara Wine Country by @svbiggins

We went back up to our happy place for the weekend on Friday. Breakfast at Bob’s Well Bread in Ballard followed by wine tasting at Future Perfect and Piazza in Los Olivos. Then it was off to Paws Park in Buellton so Chester could get some exercise and meet some fellow canines before we checked into the Vinland Hotel in Solvang to rest for a short time before walking over to Fitzpatrick’s Tavern for dinner. taken in Santa Barbara Wine Country by @svbiggins
