If you have ever been to a punk or hardcore show in NJ, you’ve probably met Paul White, known to everyone as Swank. Over the years, Swank has booked countless shows through Shore Style Punk Night, not only growing the punk and hardcore scene at the Jersey Shore, but also creating a positive environment for anyone who wants to enjoy underground music. He is like a brother to all — always the first to help anyone in need, often people he doesn’t even know. Now he needs our help.

Swank was recently diagnosed with cancer, which has metastasized to a lymph node in his neck. Further testing is needed to determine his treatment plan. Unfortunately, his insurance is making an already extremely difficult time even harder.

If you are able to donate, please do so — every contribution helps. All money raised will go toward his medical bills, which are rapidly increasing, as well as treatment costs and living expenses. Swank is a union ironworker who currently works at a wholesale fish market. He is the definition of blue collar, and any donation will help him get the treatment he needs.

It’s been a year. There is a lot that could be said. Time moves, things are quickly forgotten, sometimes that’s for the better. My aim at Salty’s, was to make a spot for all of us. To be able to do our own thing, whatever style that is. I’m proud I was able to make it happen for the last year and a half. I couldn’t have done it without Jay, Greg, Dylan, David, Jesse, Kevin and everyone else who offered help in any way. I deeply appreciated it. Most importantly, the NJ scene. For always turning out, and making it into something truly magical at times. Love y’all, thank you for everything. taken in Salty's Beach Bar by @swank_
