POSTS STORIES REELS
It’s been a while since we’ve taken a moment to reintroduce ourselves, and as we celebrate 18 years in business, now feels like the perfect time. ✨ We’re Alexis + Erika Perez, the husband-and-wife team behind SWANK By Design. Our journey began with a shared belief: a home should tell the story of the people who live there. As our shop evolved, so did our firm. What began in a tiny 450 sq. ft. retail space in 2007, fueled by our passion for layered, livable interiors, has grown into a 3,200 sq. ft. lifestyle shop and full-service design studio. Today, our shop and studio are home to a talented team of five who bring our clients’ stories to life every day, specializing in luxury new builds, large-scale renovations, and full-home furnishing projects across New York, Connecticut, Florida, and beyond. Every project we take on is deeply collaborative - rooted in architecture, balance, and craftsmanship. Alexis brings stability, structure, and a healthy dose of humor to every project, while Erika leads the creative vision, curating materials, textures, and details that give every home its soul. We’re endlessly grateful for this community and for everyone who has followed our journey, supported our shop, and welcomed us into their homes. We’re continually inspired by the clients who trust us to shape the way they live, and look forward to carrying on our work of creating spaces that are thoughtful, inviting, and unmistakably personal. ✨ #SWANKByDesign #InteriorDesign #DesignStudio #LuxuryInteriors #DesignDuo #FloridaDesign #ConnecticutDesign #HamiltonNY #CustomInteriors #ModernTraditional #FullServiceDesignStudio #FullServiceDesign #SkaneatelesDesigner #CazenoviaDesigner #PalmBeachDesigner #BocaDesigner #DelrayBeachDesigner by @swankbydesign

More than a place to work out—this is where focus meets calm, and design meets discipline. We’re in the midst of dreaming up another home gym, and the question is: how do we top this beauty from #ProjectWaterfrontReno? Challenge accepted! 👟🏋💪 Design + Details // @swankbydesign Lens // @raquellangworthy.photo Builder // @gatewaydevelopmentct Project // Waterfront Reno in Milford, CT #LuxuryInteriorDesign #HomeGymDesign #InteriorDesignInspo #DesignForTheWayYouLive #WellnessAtHome #LuxuryLifestyle #TailoredInteriors #ElevatedLiving #HomeGym #WorkoutAtHome #SWANKByDesign by @swankbydesign
Built for midnight giggles, flashlight stories, pillow forts, and cousins who swear they’re “not tired yet.” Bunk rooms are where memories are made, one late-night laugh at a time, and this one is no exception! ⚓️ Swipe left to explore all the fun, thoughtful details we designed and incorporated into this special space. We designed them with a concealed support platform, recessed several inches underneath each bed to create the illusion that they’re floating. All the fun of a floating bed, with the stability and support of a traditional one! 🛏️ We embraced the unique architecture of this space and had this slanted door custom-made to feel like something you might find aboard a ship. ⚓️ Crafted from stained black walnut with brass inlay and a coordinating brass knob, it’s one of those special details that brings the entire design concept to life. @haute__atelier Need a little privacy? We designed these custom “flags” to mimic a ship’s flags and had them handcrafted by a local workroom. ⚓️ With hooks on either side of the window, guests can easily secure them in place whenever they want a little privacy. A fun, functional detail that adds to the nautical charm of this bunk room for sure! The navy shiplap walls and round brass lights add to the ship-inspired feel without being too “theme-y,” if you catch our drift! ⚓️ And just when you thought you’d seen it all! 😉 The foll by @swankbydesign
Everyone loves the finished photos, and so do we. But there’s something equally exciting about the in-between. The details taking shape behind the scenes are the moments where ideas become reality and months (sometimes years) of planning start to come to life. We love walking a project site and immersing ourselves in the installation, problem-solving and collaboration that happen long before the furniture is placed and the styling is complete. Every beam, wire, and custom detail tells part of the story. Beautiful finished spaces don’t happen by accident. They’re built one thoughtful detail at a time, and we are genuinely just as excited about the construction process and the in-between as we are about the final reveal. ✨ Design : @swankbydesign Builder : @frankelhomesfl Architect : @stofftarchitecturalgroup Project : Highland Beach Reno #InteriorDesign #FloridaDesigner #BehindTheScenes #DesignInProgress #ProjectHighlandBeachReno CustomHome InteriorDesigner ProjectUpdate DesignBuild Craftsmanship SWANKByDesign Oceanside OnTheOcean OceanFrontLiving DelrayBeach HighlandBeach FloridaDesigner SouthFloridaDesign WorkInProgress CustomCabinetry FullServiceDesign by @swankbydesign
A look back at where it all started. ✨ Now that this whole-home remodel project is complete with a main house and a darling efficiency apartment, we’re pulling this one from the archives: a behind-the-scenes look at the hard finishes presentation that helped set the direction for the home. Stone, tile, plumbing, hardware and finishes, all considered together long before installation begins. This is where the layers start to come together and the vision begins to feel real. From presentation to completion, and all points in between. ✨ Design : @swankbydesign Contractor : C Cooper Construction Project : Gothic Revival on Maple Interior Design | Hard Finish Selections | Design Process | SWANK By Design by @swankbydesign
INTRODUCING :: Project Palm + Plaster | Delray Beach, Florida 🌴 A custom new build residence with an old soul. Inspired by the timeless architecture and understated elegance of the West Indies, this home will unfold through layers of texture and patina, interpreted through a refined Florida lens with a subtle hint of modernity. Tumbled stone. Chalky, matte finishes. Natural materials. Nothing shiny. Nothing polished. Everything perfectly imperfect. These beautiful exterior renderings by @affinitiarchitects offer a first glimpse of the vision for this project, with much more to come. Follow along as we work closely with our client to thoughtfully shape every detail of this home, inside and out. ✨ Design : @swankbydesign @elemental_staging_interiors Architect : @affinitiarchitects @liran_affinitiarch Builder : @frankelhomesfl Landscape Architect : @pladesignstudio #ProjectPalmAndPlaster #SwankByDesign #FloridaInteriorDesigner #LuxuryInteriorDesign Swank By Design, Delray Beach Interior Design, Luxury New Construction, West Indies Inspired, Florida Interior Design, Florida New Build, Full Service Interior Design, Custom Home by @swankbydesign
This beautifully appointed hotel designed by @kellywearstler does not disappoint when it comes to the details, for sure. And the service here is top notch - everyone is so friendly and helpful. Can’t think of a better place to spend the week with fellow designers for @design_camp_co! ✨ Have you been to a Proper Hotel? by @swankbydesign
You all were so entertained by seeing the crazy positions it takes to get the shot, I figured I’d share my secret to the perfect bathroom vignette🥲 Would crawl between a tub & vanity any day for this stunning bathroom designed by @swankbydesign. The green tub, the blue cabinetry, the mix of color and pattern…there was so much personality packed into this room and so many little moments I wanted to capture. Sometimes the best angle just happens to be the most uncomfortable one🙃 by @swankbydesign

Sometimes the most important design decision is knowing when to add a curve. ⚪️ In this space, we intentionally layered strong vertical and horizontal elements to complement the angular architecture: a striped linen wallcovering to draw the eye upward, a painted tongue-and-groove ceiling in the adjacent space, and a horizontal stainless steel cable railing. The challenge wasn’t creating visual interest. It was creating balance. To soften the strong directional lines and unify the composition, we introduced a circular silver chandelier. Its curved form provides contrast to the linear elements, while its metallic finish subtly references the stainless steel cable railing. The result is a space that feels both visually engaging and thoughtfully resolved. Great design isn’t about avoiding tension. It’s about knowing how to harmonize it. The details are never just details. They are the design. These custom bar shelves we dreamt up combine the warmth of pickled white oak with the refined elegance of brass inlay and escutcheons. (Swipe left to reveal the handcrafted details!) While these elements may seem small on their own, together they create depth, character, and a sense of intentionality that defines great design. At SBD, we believe the most memorable interiors are built on carefully considered details. Every material selection, finish, and decorative accent contributes to a cohesive story, proving that true luxury is found in the craftsmanship you notice up close.
