On Friday, fire brought the destruction of Seraphina Farms on Illinois Chapel Road, resulting in the presumed death of 1 child, 17 heads of cattle, and 12 heads of sheep.

Sometime in the late afternoon on Friday, October the 25th, sparks ignited a barn owned by Caroline Seraphina, which was completely destroyed. Within the hour, the fire spread, consuming the entirety of the farmland.

The old Illinois Chapel, opposite the farmland, was also ignited but the firemen succeeded in extinguishing the flames on the roof before much damage was sustained.

Ms. Seraphina’s 17 year-old son Cassiel has been missing since Friday, and after much searching the police have applied a presumption of death. In addition to this loss, the Seraphina Farm Company has sustained a loss of land, half their livestock, and their farmhouse. by @swanskin_
