‘Civilization to Nation’ - an experience of a lifetime!

Blessed and honoured to be a part of The great Indian musical directed by Feroz Abbas Khan, choreographed by @mayuri30 and @madhuri_upadhya ma’am.

It’s been a roller coaster ride since Dec 2022. Working with 350+ artists was no joke! But with it came so much joy and experiences. This project has taught me a lot of things, most importantly practice, hard work and consistency. 23 houseful shows, 23 standing ovations, 2000+ audience.. the feeling is unreal. One of my first projects out of my comfort zone and I couldn’t have asked for more.

Ever grateful to Praveen Kumar sir for letting me know about the auditions and to my Guru Smt @poornimagururaja for ALWAYS being so supportive and encouraging 🙏✨

@mayuri30 and @madhuri_upadhya ma’am thank you so much for making me a part of this. There was so much to learn from each practice session. You both are an inspiration ✨

To our RDs @lathasrinivasa , @shruu_kanna , @shalmali.z and @iam_nikhilthamke for being so patient and making sure we give our best. You guys are amazing🙌

Embarking on a journey to share the beautiful art form of Bharatanatyam through my mom’s brainchild, ‘Samskruthi,’ founded in 2005.

What began as a simple search for a dance teacher to learn from blossomed into a thriving institution offering classes in music, dance, violin, keyboard, and painting. However, as the years passed and we moved houses, Samskruthi took a backseat. A few years ago, with the blessings of my Guru Poornima Gururaja, I started teaching a small group of students. Over time, these dedicated students have continued their journey, even transitioning to online classes post-lockdown.

Today, I am thrilled to continue the legacy my mom started long ago “Samskruthi Institute of Fine Arts.”

A Journey of Gratitude ✨

Still reflecting on what has been a truly unforgettable journey to @rosakhutor_sochi Russia and Delhi ✨

It was an absolute honour to be invited to perform at the 1st International Rosa Khutor Children and Youth Festival, and to share the beauty of Indian culture and Bharatanatyam on an international platform.

This journey has left me with countless memories, experiences and learnings that I will carry with me for a long time.

A very special and heartfelt thank you to Padma Shri @prathibhaprahlad Ma’am for making this opportunity possible. Her dedication towards taking Indian culture, art and our youth to the world is truly inspiring. The vision, commitment and passion with which she creates these opportunities for young artists is something I deeply admire.

Thank my Guru @poornimagururaja whose guidance, teaching and blessings have been the foundation of my journey in Bharatanatyam. I am deeply grateful for everything you have taught me and continue to teach me 🙏

Thanjavur Bani Jathi -2

This one is my most favourite one. Jathi for Sakhiye Inda velayil - Anandabhairavi Quartet varnam.

Its very intricate shollu yet seems so simple with adavus calculations. Taught to us by Shri Thanjavur Chandrashekar kittappa Pillai sir in a workshop organised by Poornima aunty at Kalasindhu academy almost 10 years ago.

This rhythmic passage begins by establishing the Tāla before unfolding into footwork that mirrors the same pattern.

What makes this especially meaningful is that it is recited by Guru Smt Narmada. Dancing to her voice is both an honor and humbling reminder of the legacy she has left behind for generations of dancers.
