Celebrated during the final days of Navratri, Books, musical instruments, and tools are placed before goddess Saraswati.
This year Mahanavami/Saraswati Puja falls around October 16–20, followed by Vidyarambham on Vijaya Dashami (October 20–21), where young children are initiated into learning. by @swatipopat

Today's Navratri story is from my husband's childhood

The visuals may not be original but the story is.

What resonated most with me was- 'Tera tujhko arpan'- return to nature what you took from it.

This relationship between #nature and our #festivals is the best treasure we can pass on to our #children. by @swatipopat

Sometimes, a conversation doesn't teach you something entirely new. It reinforces what you already believe, makes you think a little deeper and reminds you why it matters.

That’s what I took away from the Creative Quotient 2026 – The Art of Play panel discussion on Why Curiosity Is Every Child’s Superpower.

One thought shared by @swatipopat Ma’am stayed with me: “Creativity starts with wonder.”

It made me reflect on how easily we, as adults, can unintentionally limit that wonder. We want children to follow instructions, colour within the lines and get things right. But are we giving them enough opportunities to ask “What if?”, explore their own ideas and find their own answers?

The discussion around boredom also stayed with me. We often feel the need to plan every moment for children, yet some of their most imaginative ideas can emerge when nothing is planned for them. An ordinary box, a few loose parts or an unfilled afternoon can become the beginning of something entirely their own.

As an Early Years educator, I have always believed that play is much more than keeping children engaged. Listening to the different perspectives shared during the discussion reinforced my belief that children need time, freedom and opportunities to explore, experiment, repeat and discover without every experience having to lead to a finished product.

It also made me reflect on our role as educators. We want children to become curious, creative and independent thinkers, but we must also be willing to question our own practices and give them the space to think beyond what we have planned.

Perhaps the real question is: Are we giving children enough opportunities to lead their own learning, or are we sometimes so focused on the outcome that we miss the wonder along the way?

Some conversations don't change what you believe. They strengthen it and remind you why you chose this path in the first place.

@the_lalit_mumbai why plastic bottles? At a time when hotels can contribute and stop plastic wastage, why do you have these small plastic bottles in your events? Think of the amount of plastic waste you are filling the landfills with...everyday. by @swatipopat
