Wow wow wow, these drone shots of #carbisbay by @cornish_dronephotography are beautiful. Carbis bay is one of the most stunning beaches in the UK and the @carbisbayestate overlooks it all. 😍

Great to join @surfersagainstsewage and other Ocean Activists including @plasticfreenorthdevon today as part of UK-wide paddle-out protests. Protect our @northdevonworldsurfingreserve from sewage pollution 💪🌊🏄🏼‍♀️ by @swcoastwalking

At the going down of the sun and in the morning. We will remember them. Last of the poppies at Fistral Beach in Newquay.

Double rainbows over the gorgeous fishing boats of #portloeharbour ⚓️ Portloe harbours two full-time working fishing vessels, the Jasmine and Katy Lil, which fish for crab and lobster in Veryan and Gerrans Bay, and a fleet of smaller leisure boats in summer. 🌈 🌈 pic by @cliffcottage.portloe

It’s National Poetry Day 2022

The Ocean
BY NATHANIEL HAWTHORNE
The Ocean has its silent caves,
Deep, quiet, and alone;
Though there be fury on the waves,
Beneath them there is none.

The awful spirits of the deep
Hold their communion there;
And there are those for whom we weep,
The young, the bright, the fair.

Calmly the wearied seamen rest
Beneath their own blue sea.
The ocean solitudes are blest,
For there is purity.

The earth has guilt, the earth has care,
Unquiet are its graves;
But peaceful sleep is ever there,
Beneath the dark blue waves.

Talking of Padstow… check out this beautiful spot which lies just South of Padstow, along the coast path towards Harlyn. Trevone natural sea pool! 😍 📷 @darri_simms_

We were so sad to hear of the wildfire at Baggy Point this week. We are local to the area and regularly walk this beautiful spot. See the below post by @nationaltrustsouthwest The devastation caused by a single disposable barbecue at Baggy Point, North Devon on bank holiday Monday 😨 Over 5 hectares of protected habitat has been lost, home to several species of reptile, small mammal and butterfly, as well as nesting sites of many types of seabird.

When visiting the coast and countryside, please leave your BBQs at home and bring a picnic instead to avoid scenes like this.

Anyone wishing to make a donation to help us look after Baggy Point and the surrounding landscape can do so via our linkin.bio.
