“Life has its way of finding a purpose.

I grew up in Ajmer but when I entered National Law University, it felt like a whole world in itself — so much exposure, overwhelming at first, but also giving me the wings to fly. I don’t know if I was passionate or just lucky, but I participated in Moots, fests, and even bagged prizes. It was great. But the flight that university and college life give you… it comes crashing down when you enter the real waters of life.

When I started working in Delhi, I got exhausted. Work was brutal & tiring. For 4 years, I let myself get grilled. It wasn’t just struggle though — many friendships brewed over coffee & ranting. That part was fun! But it was also getting to me, and finally, I reached a tipping point. I just left my corporate pursuit without another offer in hand. I had all these plans lined up when I left: vacation, routine, gym, habits. I took my downtime seriously & even signed up for sports. But what puzzled me was the way men looked at a girl playing — almost mocking. I knew I wasn’t an expert, but those looks were so demotivating that I stopped altogether.

It took me back to my school in Ajmer, where girls would often skip sports period & sit around gossiping because we’d never really get a chance on the field anyway!

So one cocktail night at my home in Gurgaon, while living off my elder brother, I came up with an idea — to start Sweat Like a Girl. A space where girls who didn’t run or play sports could still show up, give it a chance, and just be there for one another.

I started on 14th February, and for six months, I didn’t miss a single weekend of organizing something along with my team. There were times only one girl turned up, and I would simply accompany her. But the breakthrough came this September, when 120 girls showed up for a 3km run! It was surreal — women of all shapes, sizes, and age groups breaking stereotypes together.So I guess I’m ready for it.
