๐Ÿ”ง V70 build update โ€“ today got a little more exciting! ๐Ÿ˜… Today I installed the @strongflex.eu PU bushings into the engine subframe. Everything went quickly, smoothly and without any problems. ๐Ÿ’ช Next up was removing the old engine subframe from the V70. The bolts were a little stubborn, but so far, no big deal. Until the third boltโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ’ฅ Suddenly, BANG! โ€” and the bolt had snapped off inside the frame. Greatโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ˜… First, I removed the last bolt and then started figuring out how to get the broken one out. Center punch first, then carefully drilling a hole. Not exactly easy due to the position and how hard the bolt was. After stepping up through several larger drill bits, it was finally time for the bolt extractor. And luckilyโ€ฆ it worked! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ”ฅ With a little help from the torch, the broken bolt came out surprisingly well. Cue the celebration jumps! ๐Ÿ˜‚ After that, the new engine subframe could finally go into position. Everything bolted back together โ€” and most importantly: donโ€™t forget the steering column! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Tomorrow, a few more brackets will come straight out of the 3D printer.
