It was such a cool surprise to receive a gift from @chewy - a pet portrait of our new dog, Lily! Thank you so much!!

Lily has been with us for a few months now, and she truly is a special girl. She spent her early life as a breeder dog and didn’t get proper socialization as a puppy. She’s a Great Pyrenees, but a petite one - only about 60 lbs. After the state shut down the breeder, Lily struggled in her first home and became a bit of an escape artist. She ended up wandering the Illinois countryside for months during the winter, and it’s honestly amazing she survived.

Thankfully, her foster mom helped her heal, decompress, and learn what a dog’s life *should* feel like, preparing her for her forever home.

Lily is making great strides every day. When she first came home, she was fearful of everything. Now she holds her head high, loves walks and car rides, and enjoys hanging out with her big brother, Barkley. She still has more “cat energy” than “dog energy,” but we love her all the same. And seriously… she is just so adorable. Just look at that face! 🐾❤️ taken in Bloomington, Illinois by @sweeneygood

Just got back home from Paris. We had a great time! The weather was very good for the most part, so we walked the city for days. No bedbugs in the hotel, so that was a bonus! 😃 taken in Paris, France by @sweeneygood
