Spent the morning with @herrmannyorkwine today. The generosity of their spirit and passion for what they do continues to inspire me. The wines are so good. These folks are true ambassadors and champions of the land, Paysans of the Inland Empire, so to speak. Their relationship to the earth and their community is focused on what they can give and grow before any thought is given to what can be harvested, and the end product is so much better for it. Seriously, the wines are really fucking good. Thanks for letting me hang around, witness the magic, and ask a million questions!

Happy birthday @heybabyquepaso__, you’re the best of us! I can’t think of a single hardship in my life that wasn’t salved by having you to turn to, and I can’t think of single victory that I haven’t celebrated with you first. Brotherhood with you has been and maintains itself as the benchmark I hold all of my relationships to. Great job on the first 30 laps, the next stint is going to be even better. A note to @cookmewhole, on his last day at Rory’s Place.

Brother. Amigo. Sangre. What a beautiful chapter you’ve written here. You have so many stories to tell in your own book, as well as pages and pages in each of ours as well. I’ve said this to you before, but a restaurant is like a living organism: there’s a brain, hands, a face, feet, even the occasional a**hole ;) but you my friend, were the heart. Nothing worked without you, and the body’s capacity for love flowed through you. Given the impermanent nature of our line of work (tickets perpetually stabbed, tables turned, lowboys FIFO’ed), it’s hard to have lasting, achievable goals for folks like us. The best we can hope for, is that we leave places and people better than we found them. You, Patrick, have left this restaurant, and myself, better than you found. Thanks for all the memories. Let’s make some more!
