Currently listening to the unabridged audiobook for Sabriel and I'm having a great time. If you haven't listened to it yet, it's narrated by Tim Curry and his voice for Mogget is delightful and perfect (I really don't think that anyone else could be our favorite sassy, sarcastic talking cat). These are (almost) all of the shows that I've seen in New York in order. I should have gotten extras of the Bjtm same as I did for Operation Mincemeat, so that it could be included with the Halloween trip section. Oops! The only reason that I have 2 total SIX musical playbills is they were selling signed copies at the theatre entrance for Broadway Cares and thank goodness, because that Halloween weekend show was magicalMy signed playbills are in shadowboxes as they should be.#musicals #playbills #theatre by @sweeteachai

First you start and then you get betterRecently started painting again after a friend's painting birthday party and I realized how much I missed it. I used to paint all the time and then stopped in high school. I decided to start with these tiny postcard sized canvases and while they're still not great, I'm having so much fun with them that I don't care. Find a hobby to be bad at 💙With the exception of the moon photo and the photo of the most adorable kitten (Dr. Lint Worm) that has taken over the gc, these were all photographed by me#painting by @sweeteachai

✨Jo March envisioning a character in her book coming to life…✨When discussing themes for this photoshoot, we landed on literary characters - and while in Central Park NYC, at this lovely gate, we had an idea to do some photos of Jo and Goldberry together, where Goldberry is in Jo’s imagination as if coming to life from the pages of the book. My second love letter to New York. Loved every minute of my second trip. We saw almost as many shows as we did last time. I'm so happy to have finally met KC and her husband after being friends online for years. Also glad to have explored more of the Met, Central Park, and finally the Metropolitan Library. I can't believe this photoshoot was 2.5 years ago and I still haven't shared them. They feel like just yesterday! So grateful for my friends who took them and edited them! I'm so happy to have nice photos of this cosplay finallyI had originally planned a "Lost Girls" theme for Halloween that year and then everything went sideways on that project. (I took on too many projects and suddenly didn't have the time. A common issue with me. It didn't help that some things came out about one of the creators in a big big way that year and I didn't want to cosplay 2 of his characters anymore.) Maybe one day I will bring back this project.So pleased that I was able to thrift Virginia's exact cashmere sweater and find a similar 90s skirt. When I find coating fabric that I love, I'll make her coat. Until then, I love this. Today is my birthday! I wasn't sure what to post, but my friends surprised me with these lovely photos from our 2nd NYC trip together wherein @keowyndrials_closet and I posed for photos as our favorite literary characters in Central Park. It's no secret that I love Jo March (and that I do actually love the 2019 movie version. I will talk your ear off about it if you will let me.) So much so that for a whole school year in elementary school, family friends called me "Jo."I made the skirt in 2020 with my very first @fabricmart fabrics purchase and added additional panels a year or 2 later using up every bit of yardage making it a 0 waste project. The jacket, boots, and pants were thrifted from Thredup. (The pants being a fun nod to my Operation Mincemeat cosplay as yes, they're the pants I wear for Monty and we did see the musical later on in the evening.) Shirt and blue ribbon are things that I already had. Hilariously the wig is not my hair, but is the perfect shade to match both what my hair looked like in my early 20s (when I was in the sun A lot more) as well as Saoirse Ronan's in the movie and was a lucky 'Zon find.Thank you so much to everyone who has wished me a happy birthday. "Heather McNamara, head cheerleader. Her dad's loaded, he sells engagement rings."I really love that Heather Mac gets to be a weird girl and also be the head cheerleader at the same time. (Her line in this song is about how Veronica's face is symmetrical and that if Heather were to "take a meat cleaver down the center, she would have matching halves--that's very important.")I did thrift the jacket and skirt from Thredup. The shirt is something that I've had for almost a decade and been used in numerous cosplays from the 12th Doctor to Jo March. Ribbon is from my stash and originally purchased for Mrs. Banks (Mary Poppins). The shoes I painted with Angelus paint and I'm sorry to say purchased from Amazon along with the stockings, shoe laces, and the fishnet tights. The "engagement ring" I already had as I have a set to scare away creeps at work. I searched for yellow scrunchies from a bunch of stores, but figured that I might as well buy it (and a set of scrunchies) from the musical.
