Have I been to @litrpgcon - damn yes! Have I taken any decent pictures - heck no! Have I had a good time - ABSOLUTELY!

I was wandering the halls bumping into people I know from the internets and squeaking happily. I went to a couple really cool panels and hugged my friends. I talked to the authors I know and love. I had some great damn time!

I would also like to thank @samboydreads for being such a sweet and friendly person - she instantly makes you feel welcome on social media and in a Hyatt lobby! even though I have zero pictures with her on my phone, trust me, I met her and she’s the loveliest human on this planet.

Thank you so much you fabulous book people, life is so much better with you in it!

Hi! It’s been a while so let me re-introduce myself. I’m Elena, a San Francisco “mostly fiber” artist. Recently my feed was overtaken by everything Dungeon Crawler Carl. But it’s not all that I do. I am a knitter and a yarn dyer, a crocheter and bead worker, I sew my own clothes and spin my own yarn, sometimes I even paint and do linocuts. I am obsessed with never dressing my age and always wearing at least one weird thrifted item. I am quite a reader and my favorite genres are sci-fi, fantasy, horror and thriller.
I’m also a dive bar fly, I love a good dirty martini and a great conversation. I prefer @rosebudgallerysf to @sfmoma any day of the week and chatting with artists is my favorite thing to do. After a martini. I live in a tiny studio with my husband, who’s actually a paid artist and I’m extremely proud of him. Also my mom in law gave me these cactus socks and I love her! And gosh do I love @thepagebar_sf where the first picture was taken!

Moving makes me do things like going through my yarn stash and purging it mercilessly. Here are some of my hand dyed and a couple of my hand dyed hand spun yarns from circa 2022-2023. Most of them are merino, some are silk merino and all of these are coming to our new home with me!
(2 13 gallons bagfuls of yarn to donate are behind the scene, if you go to Goodwill on Fillmore in the next couple weeks I bet you’ll see my books and yarns)

I swear I’ll make them better. But I am not buying any new art supplies, frames and mounting boards two weeks before a big move across the state. So I just put those guys in an old frame I found in a pile of stuff and hope for the best.
Who else loses all interest in a cross stitch project the moment it’s finished? I can’t be the only one!

And finally he’s here! Our very very special boy Prepotente got his own Art Deco prepo-pattern! It’s almost a quarter smaller than Deco Donut, it’s more cartoon style and amazingly this one has an option for crafters who don’t think that stitching 3 skeins of the same color is a great fun. Yay! I’ve spent months making it, I kid you not. No popcorn stitching, no crazy difficult shading, just fun and games! Kit it up with me and prepare for byaaaaaaattle!

So 14 days of stitching 2-3 hours a day and we are done. Just did a final stitch on my caffeinated raccoons! Now I need to bathe and frame them. It was a very fun project to stitch and I’m proud of this pattern.

When I created my bookmark patterns I thought how cool would it be if someone crocheted them. And the universe delivered! Within a couple weeks I got three different reviews with my bookmarks beautifully crocheted by three different customers. I am so chuffed!
All the photos are from Etsy reviews and belong to the people who made them.

AI could never but I sure can!
Let me share a secret: most of my patterns were created / worked on / fine tuned / inspired by a conversation at SF dive bars. Like this Art Deco Prepotente here - I was literally yapping at my dive about next project. Not the healthiest of habits, but it’s still better than AI slop in my books.
