Barktoberfest is back and better than ever for its 11th year!

Featuring more than 25 local animal-centric vendors, live music, over 15 food and alcohol trucks, raffle baskets, free kids face painting and activities, an off-leash dog park, agility course, and merchandise, Barktoberfest aims to bring over 1,500 attendees together as a community to share their love of animals, all while giving back to a great cause.

In addition to bringing some of our incredible southern rescuers to Massachusetts, Sweet Paws adopters will have the special opportunity to meet the person who rescued their furry friend and, for some, even reunite with their animal’s littermates.

Join us in celebrating the people behind the rescue! Tickets are available at the door or in advance at sweetpawsrescue.org/barktoberfest2026

Thank you to @newburyportbank and The Gifford Family for sponsoring Barktoberfest 2026 🩵

🚨WE HAVE A COMPLAINT TO FILE🚨

It's about Cider. And quite frankly, something needs to be done. 🙄😂

This girl has been going around making the rest of the dog population look bad, and we're starting to think she's doing it on purpose.

Take her out in public? Perfectly behaved. Other dogs are pulling, barking, and acting like they've never seen another living creature before. Meanwhile, Cider is just sitting there calmly, minding her business like she's been attending etiquette classes since birth.

Oh, and apparently she loves EVERYONE.

Dogs? Loves them.
Cats? No problem.
Chickens? Sure, why not.
Strangers? Hello, new best friend!

MA'AM. CAN YOU PLEASE HAVE ONE FLAW? 😂

And don't even get us started on her résumé.

🐾 Walks beautifully on leash
🏡 Does great in her crate
❤️ Sweet, gentle, and affectionate
🧸 Loves playing with toys
🚗 Happy to tag along with her people
🐕 Social and easygoing

At this point, we're convinced she's trying to win some kind of competition that nobody else knew they entered.

And the worst part? She's not even being obnoxious about it. She just quietly goes about her day being adorable, leaning into people for bum scratches and soaking up attention.

The AUDACITY. 🙄

So we've decided the only reasonable solution is to have Cider adopted immediately.

She's currently being fostered at a doggy daycare, which is great and all, but we're pretty sure this little overachiever would prefer to be showing off her skills in a home of her very own.

Preferably with someone who appreciates a ridiculously good dog and doesn't mind being shown up by a four-legged overachiever.

Cider is 4 years old, available for adoption, and clearly has no intention of lowering her standards.

🩷 Please share. Let's get this little show-off a family of her own!

Barktoberfest isn’t just a chance to spend a fun and memorable afternoon with the whole family. For us, it’s a chance to thank our rescue team for all the hard work, sleepless nights, and long hours they put in year after year saving animals in need.

For you, it’s the only time of the year where you get the opportunity to meet the rescuer who saved your furry friend! Every Barktoberfest, we fly out our southern team so they have the chance to meet our incredible community of adopters, and it may just be the best part of this amazing event.

If you want to meet the rescuer behind your dog or cat, get your tickets today!
