The perfect little town… 🤍

I completely fell in love with it. I left a piece of my heart at a few other places along the way, but this was the whole reason for our trip.

They don’t take reservations, but don’t let that stop you, we didn’t wait but the waiting time is less than 10 minutes.

Even though the place was absolutely crowded, we expected the service to be slow. Instead, it was impressively fast, smooth, and attentive.

And the food? Absolutely amazing. Every single dish was a hit.💜

If you’re ever in the area, this place is an absolute must. Save this one for your list! 📍✨

Mükemmel bir kasaba… 🤍

Resmen aşık oldum! Yol boyunca kalbimi bıraktığım birkaç harika durak daha vardı ama burası zaten bu rotanın asıl sebebiydi.

Fiyat performans konusunda tek kelimeyle mükemmel. Rezervasyon almıyorlar ama gözünüz korkmasın; biz hiç beklemedik ama en fazla 10 dakika bekleniyor.

Mekan inanılmaz kalabalıktı, “Kesin servis aksar.” diye düşündük ama tam tersi oldu. 💜 Servis hem çok hızlı hem de son derece ilgiliydi.

Lezzetler ise tek kelimeyle şahane! Her lokmasıyla “İyi ki gelmişiz.” dedirten bir deneyimdi.👌

Samos turned out to be such a lovely choice for a peaceful family holiday. Staying in a seafront Airbnb really helped us feel the spirit of the island. 🌊💙

Last night, we had dinner at a lovely place: @aiolos_restaurant_samos

I can honestly say that it was the best fried zucchini I’ve ever had. 💜 Although I still can’t forget the food I had in Athens, I left this table feeling very happy too.
Especially, the feta with honey completely stole my heart. 🧀🍯

And that bruschetta… Amazing! 😍

One of my favourite things in Greece might be the house wine 🥂🫣 and this wine tastes really good!
And enjoying dinner while watching the sunset makes it even better.

(A tiny complaint: there is a €1.50 cover charge per person. Having another cover charge added when we asked for extra bread felt heartbreaking 💔)

But overall, it was such a lovely and delicious evening. 🇬🇷💙

Ailecek sakin sakin bir tatil geçirmek için Samos gerçekten çok güzel bir tercih oldu. Denize sıfır Airbnb’miz sayesinde adanın ruhunu hissettik. 🌊💙

Dün akşam da çok güzel bir yerde yemek yedik. @aiolos_restaurant_samos
Hayatımda yediğim en güzel çıtır kabaktı diyebilirim. 💜Atina’da yediğim yemekleri hâlâ unutamasam da bu sofradan da çok mutlu kalktım. Ballı feta peynirine ise resmen kalbimi bıraktım. 🧀🍯

Yunanistan’da en sevdiğim şeylerden biri de house wine olabilir 🥂🫣
Gün batımını izleyerek yemek yemek de cabası.

(Ufak bir sitem de bırakayım: Mekânda 1,5 € kuver ücreti alınıyor. Ekstra ekmek istediğimizde tekrar kuver yazılması biraz tatsız geldi açıkçası💔)

🥬 Healthy Kale Chips
Ingredients:
•1 bunch of kale
•1–2 tablespoons olive oil (a little oil)
•garlic powder
•Salt, to taste
•Red pepper powder (sweet or spicy)

Instructions:
1.Wash the kale thoroughly and dry it completely (very important for crispiness).
2.Remove the tough stems and tear the leaves into large pieces. (I didn’t this time but will do next time 🫣)
3.In a bowl, gently massage the kale with olive oil.
4.Add salt, garlic powder, and red pepper powder; mix well.
5.Line a baking tray with parchment paper and spread the kale in a single layer.
6.Bake in a preheated 150°C (300°F) oven for 15–20 minutes, checking halfway to prevent burning.
7.Remove once crispy.

Then… enjoy your healthy snack! 🥰🥬

Karadeniz mutfağının en özgün yemeklerinden biri: hamsili pilav. 💫
Rivayete göre, Osmanlı döneminde Karadeniz’den İstanbul’a göç eden aileler bu tarifi yanlarında getirmiş. “Balıkla pilav olur mu?” diyenlere inat, denizin bereketini pirincin yumuşaklığıyla buluşturmuşlar.

🌟İzmirli olarak çocukluğumda hiç hamsili pilav yememiştim.
Balığın pilavla buluştuğu bu tarif bana hep uzaktan ilginç gelirdi, ta ki eşimin teyzesi mutfağa girene kadar.🥰

Onun yaptığı hamsili pilavla ilk kez tattım bu kültürü; sadece bir yemek değil, bir hikayeymiş meğer.

Geçen ay çok yakın bir arkadaşımın evinde yemeğe gittim. Hem onun sofrasına oturmak hem de onu evimde ağırlamak her zaman büyük keyif. Abartısız ama her detayı emekle dolu… Bence “emek” bir ilişkide en kritik kavramlardan biri. 💫

Damak zevkine zaten diyecek söz yok zira gurme gezilerimizi birlikte yapmamızın bir nedeni var 😊 Yaş ilerledikçe fark ediyorum ki, hayatta değer verdiğimiz şeyler değişiyor. Artık “ne yediğim” değil, “kiminle yediğim” benim için daha kıymetli.

Ama itiraf edeyim… Bu sofradaki her şey enfesti. Ben yapmadım ama misafir olarak gerçekten çok mutlu olduğum bir menüydü. 🩵

Had dinner at a close friend’s place last month and as always, it was such a joy to sit at her table. Nothing over the top, just pure care and effort in every detail. I really believe “effort” is the secret ingredient in any relationship.🙌

Her taste is impeccable, no wonder we go on our little foodie adventures together. As I get older, I realize my values shift too. It’s not what I eat that matters anymore, but who I share the meal with.

That said… every single dish tonight was absolutely delicious. I didn’t cook, but I couldn’t have been a happier guest. 🩵 taken in İzmir, Turkey by @sweetsourtasty
