Here's my Me Made May recap: I promised to wear my handmade clothes and reflect on styling.

I indeed wore my handmade clothes most of the days, but not necessarily all day and often not out. A lot of it were home/work clothes, a lot of it repeated. I stopped taking photos when the combos ran out. Taking photos was never the goal of the challenge anyways.

My thoughts on styling are as follow:
- nowadays you can tell what age people are by the color of their clothes. Teenagers and students are black and white, 25-35 wear neutrals and 35+ wear whatever season they assigned themselves to. 50+ wear jewel tones and 60+ wear sportswear. All of them will swear to you that their styling is unique and personal.
- wide pants are sadly going out, but if you're middle-aged you can keep them
- yes you can style one skirt many ways, but it will still not prevent you from waiting something new
- I generally prefer wearing my new clothes
- blue with beige is my favorite combo of all times. I had a black-and-white winter, but now the color is back

Is this the reflection I was hoping for? God no. But it is what I had capacity to do and observe.

Welcome to May! As usual, for the 5th time in a row, I'm participating in #memademay2026 (hashtags don't make sense anymore, but what else is there?) by @sozoblog . Since I don't have a lot of new clothes - and in fact some of my handmade pieces are so worn out, that I'm considering retirement, which is its own kind of sad - I decided to tackle them in a different way.

I see a lot of wearing vs styling videos. I usually don't like them, since "styling" often involves adding a lot of unnecessary crap to the outfit, or making nice clothes uncomfortable. While mix and match can involve wearing a skirt as a dress or having insane amounts of handbags (guilty), it's usually very simple. I decided to show a limited, but not capsule, wardrobe the easy way - by wearing exactly the same bottom and shoes, but different top and accesories. I will wear it for a few days in a row, and post the results here when I switch.

First candidate is my Seamwork Dezi bonus skirt, first MMM appearance in 2022, but I made it in 2019 maybe? Not many accessories visible, since it was very hot, yet still 4 different vibes:
- Hoyt Tee, first appearance this year, for beach date vibe, worn with amber bracelet
- My perfect knit Tee, first appearance in 2024, here with a backpack and iced coffee, perfect for a casual city day trip
- vintage crochet blouse, circa 2023, for romantic retro vibes
- A t-shirt from a tee workshop in 2024, first time participating (I think?); a pop of color perfect for working from home and a coffee with a neighbour afterwards

I finished my #hoyttee by @papermoonknits and I wish I chose a smaller size. That's it:)

I think the pattern is lovely, even though you need to do the neckline with a cheat sweet. The lace was easy and it was minimal work for a t-shirt. I chose my regular size since I matched the gauge, but the weight of viscose did it's thing I guess. Maybe it'll shrink?

Regardless of that, the neckline is very open, so have that in mind if you choose to make it.

Maybe I should stick to Belle when knitting.

I'm hereby announcing my sincere intent to participate in this year #ilovebooksandsockknittingkal26 by @earthtonesgirl . I just need to finish sth else first, but I'll start on this sock today.

Denise expressed her will to match socks to books those year and it might be hard for me, because the most probable scenario is that I finish 1 sock and 10 books during that time. I can however start with my current read, Children of Blood and Bone. It's an ya fantasy based on orisha mythology and I picked it up because I like folk- based stories and I heard there will be a movie (or a series?), so I want to read it first. It's fun so far, and I'm sick, so YA is my perfect reading level.

I decided to pair it with folk socks, not a
African, but Latvian, from a book I got last year. This is a leftover from a summer cal when I made one sock and stopped. I think it's a great opportunity to get it over with.

As I mentioned, I'll probably finish the book soon today or tomorrow, and the sock not so much, but I can promise to showcase folk books during the cal and, if by some miracle I'll finish this one, to grab my other folk ufo.

You can see the sock I made on the second photo, and I want different colors but the same pattern for the second one. Which color should I start with?

A few days ago I finished the bag I started at the beginning of the month, but I haven't had an opportunity to use it yet. It's a simple shopper bag designed to fit A4 or a laptop, since I often buy paper or carry books. I hope the handles aren't too thin, but if they are, I have lots of this yarn to use.

I'm quite happy with it, maybe I'll make another one. I have plenty of ideas saved on Pinterest.

Time for a good, old-fashioned flat lay.

Project bags contents @fiberuarychallenge are:
-the bag
- some charms
- the project with yarn attached
- some yarn leftovers from a sleeve (The sweaters is too big now to carry spare yarn)
- random markers and a coin
- one lately, because people are asking
- a crochet hook
- candles I received for Chrismas and apparently have been carrying all this time (this bag didn't get to many outings, but still).

I was expecting more random junk, but the bag is new, so here's that.

@fiberuarychallenge : Matching is for last year, when me and @nana.makes.it.all accidentally matched peak 1991 color trends.

Bonus: I found these Cancer sweaters back then in a Verena 1992, and it's been a year but I still want a Cancer sweater. The first one is better, but the second one is slighly less ridiculous. What do you think?

Day 11 and 12 of @fiberuarychallenge together; I forgot to post yesterday.

I wear the pieces I make fairly often, to go out and at home, and this is definitely my favorite. I'm hoping to make more t-shirts this year.

My favorite place - for what? I assume freestyle- is the beach. Very newcomer of me, but I really like to sit there and look at the water. I don't like living away from water, it's unnatural for me.
