SR STATE 2026!! I can’t lie, this has definitely been the hardest swim season of my life.. I have dealt with a lot of progression and new complications with my disease, leading to a lot of bone and tendon pain along with my muscles progressively getting weaker. But with that being said, this weekend was a success and I was very pleased with my times. I am also SO PROUD of all my teammates and friends who performed absolutely incredibly! I’m hoping to be officially classified for Para swim this fall, unfortunately my medical stuff has sort of taken a priority.. when I get my classification, I plan to do a lot of para meets! This year’s state was so fun, thank you to @abscdogs for hosting and always creating the best experiences! (Times are from my 100 free, 100 fly, 50 free, and 100 breast!!!) by @swimmerpeyton

Overall pretty good weekend at the ABSC IMX challenge meet!! I definitely figured out my favorite and best events going into the para swimming realm! Im still learning ways to efficiently race with a disease that affects my muscles and limbs the way that it does but Im happy with this weekend! by @swimmerpeyton

ABSC 2026 awards ceremony! This was my first year back to swimming after a long year and a half away from the sport due to the onset of a genetic disease at 13 years old. I’m so grateful and happy to be back in the pool and so honored to have ABSC as my team! by @swimmerpeyton

As some of you know, I’ve been dealing with some medical issues over the past 2 years. There have been a lot of ups and downs, but overall, I’m doing pretty good. I have a team of doctors at Vanderbilt in Nashville that cleared me to return to swim. I’ve been back at training for a few weeks now, and it’s so good to be back in the water.

As for the medical aspect of things, I’m still waiting on a diagnosis. May have to go through a program at Vanderbilt called undiagnosed diseases, if some recent testing they’ve done doesn’t give us the answer.

I do now suffer from physical disability and deformity due to whatever this disease is (assumed to be genetic). Working on getting my National Para Classification, but until then, I’ll compete under the SWAD accommodations with USA Swimming. I’m swimming at the Fall Classic in 2 weeks with ABSC.

It’s ok if you stare at my weird feet, lol! Just happy to be back. May be a little different, but I’m learning to accept that. See y’all at the pool. by @swimmerpeyton

FROM PEYTON’S MOM: Any of Peyton’s friends that would like to pray for her, we leave tomorrow for her to be seen by the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. For the past year, she’s been fighting some pretty tough medical battles with very few answers of what the actual cause is. It’s been tough! She misses swim so much, and all of the friends she has made over the years in the swimming community. If you want to leave her a note of encouragement here, I know she would appreciate reading them over the next few days of appointments and tests. This is from Peyton’s Mom…
I wanted to put an update here for any of her friends, former/current teammates, fellow swimmers, etc. At Age Group State, Peyton collapsed twice, and we have since found out through multiple doctor visits, that it was a cardiac event. She has an arrhythmia of her heart called a prolonged QTC. She still has more testing to undergo, but for now, she is having to take a break from swimming until we know it is safe for her to return. Obviously, this is devastating to her and not at all what we thought the outcome was going to be. It’s hard for her to be on Instagram right now, because everything on her feed is about swimming. But, if you would like to leave her a comment here or send a message, I will make sure she gets them. Messages of love and encouragement are what are getting her through this, so I know she’d greatly appreciate it! by @swimmerpeyton
