10 years later, Subway Surfers is heading back to Transylvania. 🧛🏻

With a game that has been running for more than a decade, every World Tour is an opportunity to balance what players already know and love with something new.

For our latest update, that means revisiting Transylvania for the first time in 10 years — and bringing our community along for the journey.

At the heart of the update is the fan-designed surfer, Xoloko, originally designer by the winner of our latest Halloween-themed Craft-A-Character competition. 🎨

Twice a year, we invite our global community to design a character they’d love to see in Subway Surfers. The winning concept is then developed together with our team and brought into the game — turning fan creativity into an official part of the Subway Surfers universe.

For us, initiatives like Craft-A-Character are about more than adding new content. They’re a way to create a closer connection between the people who play Subway Surfers and the teams who build it, while continuing to evolve a game that millions of players have grown up with.

Alongside Xoloko, the Transylvania update introduces new Surfer Count Corvin, new Halloween looks for familiar characters, and plenty of seasonal details from across our teams. 🎃

Subway Surfers: Transylvania is live now through November 1.

Gaming is for everyone! 🎮

For the third year, SYBO is proud to support @specialeffectteam and #OneSpecialDay - bringing the games industry together to help make gaming accessible to people with disabilities around the world.

On October 2, all UK revenue from @subwaysurfers and @subsurfcity will be donated to SpecialEffect, helping support their incredible work using technology to break down barriers and bring the joy of gaming to more people. 🌍

UK players can also find a One Special Day bundle in Subway Surfers to celebrate the occasion and show their support.

We're proud to once again be part of an initiative that demonstrates the positive impact games can have and helps make play more accessible to everyone. 💙

Last Friday, things got a little competitive at SYBO… 🍻🧠

We gathered for the Big Ol’ SYBO Pubquiz, hosted by our brilliant quizmasters Walter and Liam!

In true British pub quiz fashion, there were beers, pies, tricky questions and plenty of friendly competition. 🇬🇧

Beyond putting our general knowledge to the test, it was a great opportunity for our interns to get to know more people across SYBO, while giving everyone an excuse to step away from their desks, have some fun and see who really knows their stuff. 👀

What happens when student developers, researchers, industry leaders, and changemakers come together?

Ideas that challenge, inspire, and help reimagine the future of play.

At this year's Games for Change in New York, #SYBO joined those conversations!

Mathias Gredal Nørvig shared his vision for how the game industry can become an even greater force for good, and sat down with fellow industry leaders to explore what a healthier future for play could look like in practice – how design, evidence, player safety, and storytelling create more balanced, inclusive and healthy play experiences.

Celia Zimmermann joined Playing for the Planet (P4P) and the winners of the Games for Change Student Challenge to share stories about designing games and activations around sustainability. Together, they also hosted a topic table on finding the right path to impact, building partnerships, and using P4P Green Game Jam as a launchpad for change.

A huge thank you to the wonderful Games for Change team for inviting us and continuing to make the festival such a special place for our community to share ideas, challenge perspectives, and shape the future of play together.

#Gaming at the @3daysofdesign festival?

An array of brilliant people and brands are in town this week to celebrate, showcase and discuss great design.

We're excited to participate in the live panel "Creativity as a way of living - How creative minds shape the way we see, sense and live together".

Majken Kalhave (Executive Director @creative.denmark), Kaave Pour (Co-founder @everyday_io), Kjersti Lund (CEO @gehlpeople) and Mathias Gredal Nørvig (CEO @sybo_games) will explore how design influences behaviour, culture, places, choices, from the cities we move through to the homes we create and the games we play.

The talk takes place in the courtyard at Store Kongensgade 108 and will be followed by live music and networking.

Subway Surfers Birthday Bash! 🥳

Last Friday, we celebrated the birthday of a game that’s been running around the world since 2012.

We had an ice cream stand, beer on tap, and plenty of outdoor games that brought out everyone’s competitive side — from cornhole battles to giant Jenga showdowns.

Even Guard stopped by to say hi… and naturally grabbed an ice cream too 🍦

Huge shoutout to everyone who’s helped make Subway Surfers what it is today — our players, partners, and the amazing team behind the game. Here’s to many more years of running!

Subway Surfers City continues to grow! 🌆

Since the launch, we’ve continued expanding the experience with new content and features for players to explore. We’ve introduced three new characters — Lucy, V3ctor, and Georgie — alongside three new boards, additional City Tour chapters, and an entirely new district: The Undertracks.

We’re incredibly grateful for the reception the game has received so far. Millions of players have already joined the city, and it’s been exciting to see the community engage with everything we’ve released.

Two iconic mobile games collide 🛹🐦

Subway Surfers and Angry Birds 2 are teaming up in a special crossover event packed with content across both games!

In Subway Surfers, players can unlock Red and Chuck, ride the Bombastic Board, and join the Egg Hunt events every weekend from May 11–31.

Meanwhile in Angry Birds 2, the Subway Surfers crew joins the flock with a special collab branded spell event, exclusive Hat Set, themed content, and more.

To celebrate the day, players old and new can unlock a special Earth Day frame in our latest update – World Tour: Sakura Tokyo.

At SYBO, we’re always exploring ways—big and small—to engage our global community, turn play into positive action, and spread awareness, especially during moments like the Green Game Jam ‘26 coming up this June.
