Feeling very sentimental 🥹
I always encourage others to live in the moment. I remember this performance as well as the rehearsal process leading up to it. I remember feeling like I was not good enough and judging my every move. I remember being told the previous year that this movement was too technical for me. I remember sitting in all of my 8th grade classes with my headphones on, listening to every piano note of the music, practicing during lunch. I remember the music of this ballet being my most listened to song of the entire year on Spotify. I remember the determination I had to prove everyone wrong. The next year, I was hesitant to perform this piece. I had the weight of multiple solos on my back and expectations of friends and family to live up to. I’m looking back with pride rather than regret. That experience made me a better artist. I took it for granted in the moment. But now I realize that I’ll never be freshly 14 again, performing this work with the same costume, same set, or the same people. I was harsh on myself, but I am proud of my work then, as well as now. 🤍

Becoming. 🩰✨️
Every class, every correction, every rehearsal, every stage has shaped the artist I am becoming.
The goal has never been simply to dance.
It’s to grow. To explore. To become a stronger artist. To walk into every room ready to learn and leave it better than I entered.
Proud of how far I’ve come. Excited about where I’m going.
Senior season. The next chapter begins now. 🩰✨️

West African speaks to my soul🤍
I loved performing Yogui set by the wonderfullll Ms. Jahanna Blunt at my first LACHSA Spring Concert. More importantly, this class taught me the history of all of the dances and rhythms we learned. The amount of knowledge I gained over the last school year in West African with Ms. Jahanna will stay with me forever. by @syd2fierce

The time is finally here! My first LACHSA Spring Concert! I am beyond excited to share that I will be featured as the soloist in an excerpt of Matthew Rushing’s “Odetta” and performing an excerpt of an original BodyTraffic piece. My Junior classmates and I have been working so hard on all of our dances. Be there April 25 at 2 or 7:30 pm, you don’t want to miss it! by @syd2fierce
