Concrete Rock: New York DIY
Desert Island Recordings #2
Out June 26, 2026

Today, we officially announce the tracklisting for Concrete Rock, a long-awaited record put together with a whole lot of trial, error, and love. NYC’s latest crop of bands have made the last few years an exciting time, and to capture just a bit of that feeling on wax is a rare honor. These eleven entirely new songs trace a spectrum and community, not united in sound or aesthetics, but in values of creative practice.

Preorder is available on the Desert Island website. The record comes with a zine featuring art by @jamestonra000 and @shannnonmcmahon .

The 2026 WFMU Fundraiser Marathon is here!

For the next two weeks we’re raising money to keep listener-supported, freeform radio alive. And there’s some pretty awesome shows and swag (not the swag pictured here that’s from a 1996 catalogue.) WFMU is the most special place ever and as a new DJ I want to keep it alive for as long as humanly possible!

Tune in Wednesday 3/4 and 3/11 from 9pm-Midnight EST for some great hits, good banter, and glorious vinyl prizes (trust me you want these, but you can only get them if you listen live.) My phenomenal co-host for week one is @suzyhotrod55 and my arch enemy for week two is @creamocoyl.

And don’t forget to check out my DJ premium “I <3 MY AI BF,” a CD mix full of automated love songs for the hopelessly romantic and chronically online.

Friends! The first ever Compilation Nation mixtape is now available: twenty great songs written about in four issues of everyone’s favorite archival-minded zine. Hand-dubbed by a girl who never wants to hear any of these songs ever again. Link in bio to buy or dm me to avoid fees :) by @sydney.salk
