Happy Sunday!!☕️⭐️

I finished three books this week, two that I really enjoyed and one not so much. I finallyyy finished Demon Copperhead!! I started that one in September so it took me awhile but it was so worth it, a very easy 5 star for me.

I also finished If We Were Villians, I gave that one a 4.25⭐️! Definitely really enjoyed it but there were some aspects I didn’t love.

I also read The Caretaker, finished it in like a day but I unfortunately did not love it as much as We Used to Live Here (a 5⭐️ for me), it was around a 2⭐️. It started so strongly but it fell really flat around the 40% mark.

I started Blood Over Bright Haven last night, not far in but I have high expectations so I’m excited to finally read it!! I hope you all had an amazing reading week ❤️ taken in BOOKSTA by @sydneyreadz

Dead Beat by Leigh Bardugo: 5⭐️!!!!

I’m seriously heartbroken this series is over!!!

This was the absolute perfect ending to the series, it had everything I wanted and more. Seeing how far all of these characters have come from the first book was beautiful. Alex especially, my all time favorite FMC, she was put through the ringer her entire life and throughout all of these books, this one was no exception, but her strength is inspiring. She never let the world beat her down no matter how much it tried, and she finally got to feel safe and loved by finding her people(😭).

Darlington, my king, I LOVEDD getting his POV in this book, it truly added so much to the story. It really felt like he grew into himself in this book and was unapologetic about it. Idk what it says about me that I prefer demon Darlington but I very much do. He was perfect and I loved seeing how he really felt about Alex and how he protected her in this book.

Ofc I also absolutely loved Dawes, Turner, and Tripp, as always. They add so much to the story and I love the family they created together.

I already can’t wait to reread the series now that it’s completed and I think this may now be my favorite of the three!! by @sydneyreadz

reading update! ★

The past week I’ve been going back and forth between Dead Beat and Demon Copperhead. I can already tell that both books are going to be 5 stars so I’ve tried to slow down and take my time with them.

Demon Copperhead especially is so dense with information and the subject matter is quite dark a lot of the time, so I don’t want to rush my way through. I’m loving reading about Demons story even though it’s also breaking my heart 😭 I’m about 50% of the way through it now, I think I’ll probably finish sometime next week!

Dead Beat is also lowkey putting me through the ringer because my girl Alex is really going through it this book (when is she not though). I can’t seem to put this one down but I also can’t imagine this amazing series being over so I’m both happy and sad the whole time I’m reading it. I’m about 60-70% of the way through and I honestly think I may finish this one in the next day or two!! taken in BOOKSTA by @sydneyreadz

Main Characters by Bobby Palmer: 4⭐️!!

I’m so sad this wasn’t a 5 star for me, mainly due to me never fully believing that these characters were meant to be together.

The premise of this book is that we get to know these characters, Clara and Seb, and their love story, through the eyes of everyone but themselves. The entirety of the book we never get the main two characters point of view and it spans decades. I absolutely loved this aspect of the book but it did take a bit of getting used to. I do think it hindered me getting really into the story and interested in the characters lives right away. I didn’t find myself unable to put the book down until probably 40-50% of the way through.

Once I was hooked though, I didn’t want to stop reading. I just never really believed that Clara and Seb were meant to be like the story wants us to. I actually found myself being more interested in the lives of the side characters/their loved ones a lot of the time. Every new POV (because they never repeated) truly brought something new to the story. I especially liked seeing the contrast from the strangers POV of Clara and Seb with their loved ones POV. Everyone seemed to understand that their relationship was quite toxic at times (a lot of the time…) but somehow still rooted for them, I just couldn’t be one of them. weekly reading update!♡

I finished two books this week and currently reading a third that I’m hoping to finish by the end of this month!

Books finished:
- Love, Theoretically by Ali Hazelwood: I loved this one!! I ended up giving it a 4.5/5 star. By far my favorite from Ali Hazelwood and I absolutely loved the MMC Jack. Elsie did annoy me quite a bit though which is the biggest reason it wasn’t a 5 star for me
- Side Effect by Paige Sander: this one was an ARC so this book doesn’t actually come out until January but WOW!! I finished this in a day and it was an easy 5 star. It was a novella and under 200 pages but it still somehow made me so attached to the characters and their love story, I didn’t want it to end!

Currently reading:
- Main Characters by Bobby Palmer: I’ve seen so many people rave about this book but I’m actually not sure how I’m feeling about it yet. I’m currently about 30% of the way through and the concept is absolutely nothing like anything I’ve ever read but I’m also not feeling very connected to the characters yet. I’m hoping as I get further in that will change! #bookish #booksta #bookstagram #reading #readingupdate by @sydneyreadz

I started my morning with some reading ofc. I started Love, Theoretically last night and read some more this morning, not sure how I’m feeling about it yet. Ali Hazelwood has always been a pretty big hit or miss for me (usually miss🫣) so we’ll see how I feel about this one!

Also planning on watching The Love Hypothesis later and super excited for that!! #bookworm #bookish #bookstagram #alihazelwood #romancebook by @sydneyreadz
