Miller’s Story🪽🌈
Update: Miller crossed the rainbow bridge 1 week before his 2nd birthday on August 24 with his head tucked under my chin and tightly held, warm and comfortable in my arms. He was content & at peace & I believe he knew how loved he will always be & the impact he made in my world.

Miller’s officially home & out of the ICU. I’m blown away by the amount of love & prayers this little boy has gotten over the last few days. 1 week ago miller showed signs of fatigue, decreased appetite and weight loss. Miller turns 2 on August 31 and for his age & breed, this is extremely uncommon. After a visit to the vet & no history of illness or toxic ingestion or trauma, there was little concern since he had shown signs of his normal self and had been eating and had energy. Even the vet wasn’t as concerned. After his labs came back there was indication for a serious kidney issue. He was admitted to the ICU for a few days to treat him & monitor him and try to determine what was causing this. Miller is unfortunately in end stage renal failure due to kidney dysplasia that is congenital in nature, or had been present since birth. There is no way we could have found this sooner se the signs and symptoms are only visible when it’s too late.

I rescued him in December 2023 but he quite literally rescued me and healed a heart he didn’t break and filled a hole I thought would take years to fill &everyone in my life, already knows this. Miller had taught me that there is unconditional love & I am deserving of it. I planned on Miller meeting my soul mate and being there for me to get married. It turns out he was my soulmate all along. The amount of love this sweet boy has given to every life he’s touched is beautiful & reminds me that love is real.

Miller’s doctor okayed him to be home with care management & rest comfortable with his favorite people and doing his favorite things for the rest of the life he has left. I’ve never known a love or connection so special to this sweet boy and I can’t thank everyone enough from the bottom of my heart how grateful I am for the thoughts, positive messages, prayers and donations to his go fund me for his medical bills. 💚 taken in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania by @sydneyrfitzgerald

I made this video a few weeks before I found out that Miller had a sudden terminal prognosis with congenital renal dysplasia that snuck up on us in the matter of days. It’s a precious memory for me. Be cringey. Take the pictures. Take the videos. They’re all you’ll have left one day. Miller gave me the best love in the darkest time and he taught me how to love being alone with myself. May the just a dog people never find me. by @sydneyrfitzgerald
